So I find out today I've been cancelled by "neighborly" NextDoor.

This is absurd - and perhaps I was "reported" (snitched) by the last jerk I replied to last week. He was telling everyone how there aren't many of us (around here - indeed) and we're just posting alot (not true) and WE SHOULD REPORT THEM AND GET THEM BANNED. I gave him a piece of my mind in public.

That goes for ND - and FB, and YT also.

Always get that reply when a poster realizes he erred in posting.

I know, right? "Oh, I was just joking!" and "Can't you take a joke?"

The other thing is when someone refuses to admit any error, but then posts your point, the one that they fought against, as his/her own. Sometimes they don't even reword it.

My hub monitors Nextdoor...likes to read the loonies statements and questions..simple entertainment

I live next to a forest preserve and here on ND it's all about coyote sightings, LOL! The loonies here get stirred up every time someone posts about a coyote. I love tweaking them by posting pictures of Wiley Coyote.

These idiots out here, they moved next to a heavily wooded area, WTF did they think they were going to see? Bambi?!

These services are just tools, and we need to start thinking of "the right tool for the right job". If you need a reference for a handyman, then ask on ND. If you want to watch cat and dog videos, then by all means visit YT. If you want to swap recipes and talk about your High School days, then FB is your huckleberry.

But, ff you want to engage in serious discussion of current events, visit Free Republic, or any of the other emerging conservative outlets.

And, whenever tries to engage on those platforms regarding current events, just reply ... "I'll be happy to engage you on that topic on xxx, but I only use this platform for less serious purposes."
