When I had my annual checkup last January, my doctor asked if I'd had my flu shot. I said no. She asked why not. I told her that if I had to distance, wear a mask, and all of the other things to prevent Covid that I should be safe from the flu as well, right? She thought about it for a second and said "if you get the flu and Covid at the same time they will bury you with your asthma. You need to get your flu vax and you will be fine". No mention whatsoever of getting the covid vax at all. She never asked if I'd had it or if I wanted it. Just said to get the flu vax, so I did.

Inquiring minds want to know: Knowing what you know now, are you going to get a flu shot in 2022?

I tried to check in three hours ago on PRs laptop but it kept failing to connect to execute the post.

Now, using my Kindle, severe winter storm warning in effect. Heavy snowfall started half hour ago. I won’t be going anywhere. Plenty of time to catch up.

I got mine about a month ago since they are predicting a bad flu this year. There are a lot of people sick right now.

That said...when I went to get it, I asked the NP if there was any chance of it getting mixed or mixed up with the Covid vax and she walked me through the process. They are kept in separate coolers and she enters the code from each vial into the computer to make sure it’s the right vax. She did it all right in front of me. She never asked my covid vax status but I made sure she knew I didn’t want it. LOL

My husband is refusing to get his this year because he’s afraid they will sneak the covid vax in on him.

TC! What strains of the Flu are they vaccinating for this year? Do you normally react to it and did you this time? I usually feel lousy for a few days if I take the Flu Shot and still do vitamin D, zinc, and elderberry to be sure.

I’ll dig out the paperwork and find out what strains it covers. It’s not on my online chart. The only thing there is that I got the high dose for 65 and over.

I haven’t had any reaction in a long time. I used to have mild fever and chills the night of the day I got it but not the last two years anyway.
