As a Linux kernel guy, I can really appreciate the penguins all running together.
The only thing missing is the cliff!

This is very good thank you!
I have always compared it to the hierarchy of automobile manufacturers and options.
GM > Pontiac > Firebird > assorted options packages badged as the end model.

There’s a distro out there, Linux fx? I 5hink is the name, that is supposed to poor a lot like windows. I haven’t tried it out, but might try it in a virtual machine j9ust to check it out, but real,y I am more than happy with mint cinnamon. I was a distro hopper for awhile, looking for the right one, but soon discovered that most were very similar, so I settled,on mint cinnamon and haven’t looked back. I did kind of like the challenge of manjaro, but I kept breaking things, knowing only just enough to get myself In Trouble lol.
My mind is too tired now for new things, so,I stick with the tried and true, and don’t mess with it too much

I also have settled on Linux Mint Cinnamon. I really like it. It is very stable and very intuitive. Maybe the autocorrect associates 'poor' with Windows, just saying...

my biggest fear of putting toe in linux water ....
do i have to reconfigure the hard drive?
all my files, pdf, mp4, txt, jpg, rtf, are on portable hard drives with windows.
To: Terry L Smith
if they are on portable drives, formatted with Windows’ NTFS, Linux will still be able to read them.

ok thank you on the nfts, now ... the hard drive, completely repartition or not?
To: Terry L Smith
I have all of my personal files on an external usb 3.0 1Tb external drive named Toshiba-1Tb. It is NTFS formatted and all I have to do to read and writer to it from Linux Mint Cinnamon is plug it in and navigate to /media/al/Toshiba-1Tb and it is automatically mounted for read/write and all access I want to do. Note, my home directory is /home/al/ where all of my Document, Download, Pictures, etc... files are located. It is also very easy to copy and paste to/from any home directory to the external storage drive.

“the hard drive, completely repartition or not?”
I would, since you have all your files on a removable drive.
Even if you go back to Windows, a fresh install will run a lot better.
To: ShadowAce
I’ve grown to prefer the macOS distribution. ;-)
