Until Omicron came along, the official response to Covid served as an instrument of class warfare against blue collar workers and small businesses, on behalf of the tech oligopolists and selected big businesses such as Target, which were deemed “essential.” Not coincidentally, blue collar workers and small businesses are the core of the GOP base, while Silicon Valley and the plutocracy are the cash cows and power base of the Democrats.
But the Omicron Variant has – at least for now – turned that class dynamic on its head. Writing for the Brownstone Institute, Jeffrey A. Tucker explains:
The initial lockdowns had a strong class-based component. The working classes were assigned the job of delivering groceries, tending to the sick, driving the trucks filled with goods, keeping the lights on, and keeping the fuel running. The professional class, among whom were the people who pushed lockdowns in the name of disease avoidance/suppression, were assigned the job of staying home in their pajamas and staying safe.
It all happened seemingly in an instant. We all had to figure out whether our job qualified and what we should do. More striking at the time was the very notion that government bureaucrats could slice and dice the population this way, deciding what can open and what cannot, who must work and who must not, what we can and cannot do based on our station in life.
So it now seems obvious to me. This whole disaster would finally come to an end (or at least the end would begin) when it became obvious that the great strategy of class division and demarcation would fail to protect the Zoom class from infection.

So what if Fauci, Inc. realize they’ve ridden this horse into the dirt? Why can’t they throw the narrative into reverse and announce Biden’s victory over Covid? What if the media and big tech announce the scamdemic is over and that the new variant, sniffleicron, would be the last. Hell, I’d be celebrating the news. The boobs and Karens of the “in Fauci we trust” crowd would have the ok to go back to a normal life with a normal 2022 flu season and Biden would have accomplished the greatest feat since FDR single handed won WWII.
The CHINA VIRUS is doing what all viruses do: continue to mutate until it infects as many people as possible, before finally burning itself out / dying off / becoming an endemic that hardly anyone worries about.
Anything else ("working class" vs. "zoom class") is unadulterated, made-up BULLSH*T by the author designed to separate and pit people against each other. So sick of that crap.
Just in time for the midterms, too.

Actually, I see that as exactly what happened.
The left’s whole goal is to create division and pit us against each other and dividing America into essential workers who must allegedly risk their lives and the elite who could stay home and quarantine, and often get paid while not working (teachers come to mind), is ideal for them.

Because you've bought into their mentality. I have not and I refuse to. The more you allow them to divide us all in your own mind, the more they win.
You are quite prescient. Exactly what’s going to happen. Omicron will end the pandemic. It’s natural law. More contagious less dangerous is herd immunity. In fact I think we are seeing that in South Africa where they have dropped all restrictions with 80% infected or vaccinated.
The vaccines serve a role. They have prevented death. Delta deaths were entirely in the unvaccinated. But were I Biden I would absolutely pivot to Covid is defeated. Look man, we pushed the vaccines, and son of a bitch no one is in hospital. Happy days are here again. He works well benefit to apply the strategy that several of those against vaccines here use — correlation is not cause. But in this case he could probably claim credit without demonstrating anything based on the horrendous fatigue of people with Covid.

In the United Kingdom, at least 259 people have died after contracting the delta variant of COVID-19. Of these, 116 people were fully vaccinated, according to the latest data from Public Health England.

It’s not nonsense. Seeing how I practice medicine in America and was actually in the hospital during delta and that my observations were very consistent with the other physicians around here…well you can believe what you want. I trust my own eyes and my own practices

Nobody cares what you do for a living if you don’t bother checking the facts. Vaccinated people in the US have died from Delta as well. Go check the CDC numbers before promoting this stuff as though it is somehow magically solving the epidemic.
