New York City's strict vaccine requirements get even stricter as of Monday. Everyone 12 years old and up now has to show proof of full vaccination to dine in at restaurants, go to the movies, work out in gyms, or attend any kind of indoor performance.
For Beata Moon, a composer, pianist and teaching artist in Queens, that means she will not be able to perform a recital in February at Musica Reginae, a community concert space.
She cannot attend a March concert at Carnegie Hall, where a piece she composed, setting the words of people experiencing homelessness to music, will be performed.
That's because Moon, 52, is only partially vaccinated, with one shot of Moderna last March, making her an outlier in New York City, where 4 out of 5 adults are fully vaccinated.
Like many people, Moon was excited about the arrival of the vaccines early in 2021.
"Both my husband and I couldn't wait to get it," she says.
She got a first dose of Moderna in late March. But a couple of weeks later, she began feeling ill…

She developed tinnitus after her first dose which affects her hearing…and as a musician it concerns her. She also had Covid and wants more research done on natural immunity.

She should have hired that guy who’s renting his arm out to get jabbed and jabbed and jabbed for people who don’t want the boosters.
If you didn’t get a jab this morning with your Starbucks Salted Caramel Mocha Latte, you aren’t fully vaccinated.
For Moderna (which I got) the primary doses are 0.5ml each.
And the booster is .25ml.

....because, ya know, the virus is so smart, that is avoids performing artists, college or professional athletes, or individuals accompanying such performing artists or college or professional athletes who don't live in the 5 Boroughs..

"Partially vaccinated" and "fully vaccinated" are nothing but propaganda and marketing terms. One is either vaccinated or they are not.
The Pfascist korporations and their government counterparts play games with science and need to be brought to heel.
I was bummed about the booster because it was only a half dose. Doesn’t set off the WalMart door alarm like the first two. Hard to duplicate that adrenaline rush of outrunning the chubby mask sheriff lady at the door.
It’s NYC and NPR.... One is as useless as the other.
Yeah I’ll pass on these little tested experimental treatments and stick to exercise, vitamins and supplements.
In the rare case I actually contract this virus, that I have a 99.8% chance of recovering from, my super governor has seen fit to provide monoclonal antibody treatments that have been proven to wipe it out in a matter of hours.
So if you feel the need to get a booster shot for your booster shots booster shot....feel free to take mine.
It means you’ve done whatever they’ve told you to do no matter how many times that changes.
