Thanks for sending us on trip down memory lane to the days before Amtrak, when train travel was fun. The dinner in the diner featured excellent food, you had real eggs, not made from powder, for breakfast, and you arrived at your destination on time.

Awesome. I love big band music, especially the horns. The tap dance routine was very impressive. We just don’t see talent like the band and dancers anymore.

Glenn Miller’s very different swing sound earned the undying fandom of this girl!

I was lucky in high school because our band teacher (I was 1st chair sax) emphasized big band and we would actually go out and play gigs on NYE.

Can you believe those tap dance guys? F me!

Ayn Rand was a huge fan of tap dance because it’s all-American.

quote: Ayn Rand considered tap dancing to be her favorite form of dance saying that “it cannot express tragedy or pain or fear or guilt; all it can express is gaiety and every shade of emotion pertaining to the joy of living.”

I had no idea about that. I’ve gained another respect for Ayn Rand.

Love that video. I watch it often. Dorthy Dandridge and the Nicholas brothers are also a treat. Awesome timing.
