CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cuyahoga County is currently among the areas with the highest COVID-19 infection rate in the entire country.
According to data compiled by the New York Times from state and local-level health agencies, Cuyahoga County currently has the second highest COVID-19 case rate per 100,000 in the United States, behind only Hopkins, Texas.
The latest update on Dec. 24 shows that Cuyahoga County’s cases per 100,000 is 254. That’s a 234% increase over the last 14 days.
Lake, Lorain, Portage, and Summit counties are also among the top 20 in the nation with the highest case per 100,000 metric.
GOOD NEWS!
HERE COMES THE HERD!
Roughly one person in 400.
Number of cases without hospitalizations and deaths means nothing.
For every single case, there are probably 6 or more contact cases.
My old home town.
I was just up there a couple weeks ago.
Must be coming from the Browns training facility!
I was seeing a stat of 1 in 260 earlier....someplace?? NYC??
Perhaps they can ward off the virus if they set the river on fire

What Laboratories Should Know:
There are no authorized, cleared, or approved diagnostic tests to specifically detect SARS-CoV-2 variants (Omicron or other variants). Currently, COVID-19 tests are designed and authorized to check broadly for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, not for specific variants.
The Omicron variant has a deletion in the spike (S) gene (Δ69-70). Some molecular tests with multiple genetic targets include a target covering the portion of the S gene where the deletion occurs. The presence of this mutation can result in an S-gene target failure (SGTF, also referred to as an S-gene drop out). The S-gene target will fail (return as negative) while other targets are expected to remain positive in the presence of this virus. SGTF can signal the need for sequencing to characterize the variant in a specimen.
SGTF has been observed in other variants and thus is not specific to the Omicron variant
When one can refer to the sometimes “beloved” CDC and find information such as this, those who cite the CDC as secular gospel ignore Data such as this. This would include all the previous “variants” breathlessly announced in past months.
Continuing the citation: “Results regarding the presence of the Omicron variant, or any other variant, should not be reported back to patients or providers and cannot be used for diagnostic purposes.”
CANNOT BE USED FOR DIAGNOSTIC PURPOSE.
Odd, that.
The top rate? Hopkins Country Texas?
Hopkins County Texas, As of the 2010 census, its population was 35,161.
The Idiots are using a county that the entire population is 1/3 of the size of the statistical unit, 100,000.
Figures never Lie, but Liars Figure.
I call, BS!
Don’t doubt it for a second - incredible how many people I know are sick, including Ms. Chin.
Are the morgues full? Crematoria running at full tilt? Navy hospital ships on the way?
LOL...you’re dating yourself...and I’m dating myself because I know what you are talking about!
More test more cases...fools all
Uh, no. Not sure anybody is claiming that, either. A whole lot of people sick, not many deaths. I thought that was rather widely known....
Same here! Lots of clients cancellations. 2020 didn’t know a soul with it. Now …every point of contact has someone with it.
That was exactly my point.
OHIO PING!
Please let me know if you want on or off the Ohio Ping list.
Cuyahoga County’s COVID-19 case rate per 100,000 is 2nd highest in US
