Furthermore, mutations come in 2 flavors, a substitution that doesn’t change the ‘meaning’ of expressed protein like a typo substituting a capital letter for lower case: hire vs Hire this is a “synonymous” mutation, one where the substitution changes the meaning, e.g. hire vs fire is a “non-synonymous” mutation.
In the wild, synonymous mutations are about 2 to 4 times as likely, since they basically don’t affect the genetic outcome much. Non-synonymous mutations are more likely to ‘gum up the works’ and not be passed on. Imagine how long a company would last if every time it needed to hire someone it fired someone instead!
Omicron has a ratio of 25:1 non-synonymous:synonymous mutations.
In the wild we’d expect at least 25:50, up to about 25:100 ratio.
This ain’t a wild strain, folks.
In the wild we’d expect a family tree slowly accumulating one change, maybe two at a time.
Omicron burst onto the scene fully formed, with no immediate ancestors between the original Wuhan lab escapee and itself.

At the moment the powers that be are using the Omicron (oh no!) variant as another fear porn tool, even if a fair part of the population can see right through it. Masks, fear induced reductions in family gatherings, 1000's of airline flight cancellations, 5 year olds having to wear masks in kindergarden, etc. It's a continuation of the altering of society.
Is this "new" variant a long term plan by the Chinee? I dunno. Again, nothing they do will surprise but it almost always will have nefarious intentions. The CCP has zero regard for human life.

Regarding masks, it is unlikely that we are breathing out naked virus particles. It is much more likely to be moisture particles carrying viruses, like the ones that now mist up my glasses when it is cold, because my breath is not going through the mask very much. Also, I doubt my water vapor penetrates the masks of other people. On the other hand you maskless ones may want to depend on social distance.
Soon many will be reading Bobby Kennedy Jr.’s new book describing all the foul things Fauci has been involved in ever since the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, and now Covid. Also the book covers the results of a meeting 20 years ago with Bill Gates and what they have done together since then. The book is available in Kindle and in print, but Amazon seems to be running slow in meeting print orders. People complaain that the narrator reads to slow and speeding up by 1.4 helps improve what you hear.

This is clearly a man made variant purposely released at a given moment in time and I would point that not only did this mutation appear with no connection to any other mutation but suddenly appeared world wide. Clearly purposeful for reasons not so clear. Most experts do however fear that that the spike protien, along with unknown ingredients in the jab, could interact with a future variant or similar virus that will have devastating effects.
Masks are about as effective at stopping a haze of nano-sized viruses as a chain linked fence is at stopping a swarm of fleas.

From what I have read, omicron was originally a unique variant that inevitably occurred in one of the people in South Africa, where many people cannot tolerate vaccines and so become a giant breeding ground for variants.
When the breeding ground accidentally produced a virus of extreme contagiousness, it took over all the others.
All mutants have been described as coming from the original virus, not from further lab creations.
I’m not an expert in the science, but this is what I see as I try to keep up with the covid news.
The Chinese government has been big in Africa for decades now. They have a large presence there. They’re not always welcome there. Initially their money (from favored trading status with the West) bought their way into Africa, but then the locals caught onto them. Still, their money held onto local leaders and influencers.
Sound familiar?
Yeah, it’s how they operate.
So Chinese access to Africa, yes.
To Argentina, not so much.
