The eight-time All-Pro linebacker was booked and charged with two felonies. The charges were reportedly brought forth after Taylor allegedly failed to let authorities know that he’d changed his home address — something he’s required to do as a registered sex offender.
Lawrence Taylor, 62, was booked around 8:45 p.m. ET on Thursday night and released just hours later, according to jail records acquired by TMZ Sports. A spokesperson for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the former NFL superstar was charged with sex offender violations.

"Taylor was declared a sex offender back in 2011 after he pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute. That case in question accused the former New York Giant of having sex with a 16-year-old girl. At the time, he claimed he was unaware that the girl was underage."
LT = 62?
Madden is paid to jabber.
I saw an interview with him not long after that criminal case was settled. LT is not stupid by any stretch, but his stunted emotional maturity was startling. I had the impression that I was seeing an eight year-old child in a man’s body.
Didn’t he admit drug use about a decade ago.
Majorly
Sean Taylor would have left his a distant memory. Saw him say “BOO!” to a receiver and the receiver instantly dropped the ball. Sean could dominate the game on a mediocre team like the deadskins.
Oops, got distracted. Pisted twice. Sry
Her problems were surely unknown to Taylor and should not be used against him.
I don’t knw much about the personal life of Taylor but no matter his emotional age the specific crime he was found guilty of was imo not a crime at all given the circumstances.
He wasn’t “found guilty” of any crimes in that case. He PLEADED guilty to the charges.
“He wasn’t “found guilty” of any crimes in that case. He PLEADED guilty to the charges.”
A distinction without a difference in this case. I take exception to the law itself.
Well, OK. Maybe LT knew something about the facts of the case that contradict the narrative you presented.
“Well, OK. Maybe LT knew something about the facts of the case that contradict the narrative you presented.”
I don’t believe Taylor knew the prostitute was 16 yrs old. If he did then he deserved what he got. I don’t know about you but I have known of underage girls while growing up who could have easily passed for 18.
He pleaded guilty to the charges. That’s all I know. All I’m saying is that there might be some damaging facts of the case here that he knows about — and you and I don’t — that motivated him to do that.
He was charged with having sex with a minor. He had no possibility of a case if he denied having sex so he admitted to it. The problem after that was the girl was a minor, something he may not have known but it doesn’t even matter if he knew or not or if the girl had ID to indicate she was 18.
The difference in punishment for soliciting a prostitute and sex with a minor is pretty significant.
Prostitution is an ugly, evil business; degrading to everyone involved.
Anyone with any common sense knows that most female prostitutes start out being trafficked, when young and then kept in the game through drug addiction and/or violence.
When a bar serves alcohol to a minor and something bad happens, the estblishment is held responsible, regardless if a fake ID was shown.
This is not about morality. Prostitution is legal in many places around the world including here in America. This is about what I believe is an improper morals charge against Taylor.
“When a bar serves alcohol to a minor and something bad happens, the establishment is held responsible, regardless if a fake ID was shown.”
Maybe not

(2) If prior to serving alcohol an alcohol server diligently inspects a patron’s ID and reasonably concludes it is legally acceptable (even if it turns out to be a fake ID), and the appearance of the minor indicates the minor could be twenty-one years of age or older, the alcohol server has a defense to a charge of selling to a minor.

I agree. Much ado about nothing.
The cops definitely could have handled this better.
