Pfizer says testing on its planned COVID-19 treatment pill has shown it is effective against the omicron variant while also maintaining its efficacy in reducing hospitalizations and deaths caused by other variants.
According to the Associated Press, a study conducted by Pfizer on 2,250 people showed the pill reduced combined hospitalizations and deaths by about 89% among high-risk adults who took the pill shortly after noticing COVID symptoms.
Testing conducted by separate labs showed the treatment remained effective against the omicron variant, despite the pill being developed before omicron was spreading around the world. The treatment was tested against a man-made version of a key protein that omicron uses to reproduce itself, according to Pfizer and the AP.
Although the treatment has not yet been approved, the Food and Drug Administration is expected to make a decision soon on whether or not the pill will be approved. If the FDA grants approval, it will become the first COVID-19 treatment that Americans would be able to pick up from a pharmacy.

Only treatments from Big Pharma are acceptable.
effective
didnt see a word about safety
It’s called Iverpectin.
Ivermectin is far too cheap and effective.
Time to issue a new pill, which Pfizer can gouge the government on pricing.
How much do you want to bet the active ingredients in this “new” treatment turn out to be the same or similar to those in treatments already proven effective. Of course existing, safe, effective, cheap treatments don’t get the CEO that new Mercedes for his wife so... Reformulate, repackage, patent, and charge 10x more for it.
D3 is a lot cheaper. So is Ivermectin and now there are sveral other effective measures that don’t have to pay for the Pharma/Fauci patents.
Sure it is.
I’d love to see a side by side comparison of Ivermectin and what Pfizer has cooked up.
Bet there would be lots of ingredients on both sides of the ledger.
One BIG difference would be retail price.
Pfizer has lied in the past! It may be effective or may not. It sure as hell will be expensive
Wow, an entire article about a drug that never bothers to name it. Awesome writing there! At about $530 I suspect PAXLOVID will be a cash cow for Pfizer (assuming phase 3 goes well). Of course, that’s the price in “rich countries”. Pfizer has authorized generic production in 95 poor countries with the agreement they can’t be sold in developed countries. I might have to start a smuggling operation from Mexico!
I’ll take the Horse Paste and Robitussin.
The Omicron variant is very mild and now Pfizer is trying to take credit for that!!!! Unbelievable.
Pill never identified, chemical or brand name.
Interesting...
Of course it’s effective. It’s chemically modeled after Ivermectin.
They are both small molecule drugs, but the molecules are not remotely similar. You know you are correct on the price, at least here in the USA.
And BTW, the molecule for this drug was originally developed for SARS (the original) back in 2004, but the virus disappeared so it was shelved. Had they finished it back then, they would have made trillions of dollars.
I don’t believe any of these goons anymore. The jabs weren’t working so they had to come up with another gimmick and another several billion dollars.
And who made ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine?
Who cares? A temporary med vs a maybe permanent shot - the choice is clear not knowing long-term effects.
Sure, I believe it all. Unconditionally. No lies here. Nope.
Nothing shady going on. Nope.
