A driver for the grocery delivery service Instacart allegedly smashed an elderly couple’s groceries and left a nasty note on their receipt because of their yard sign supporting the local police department.
The incident reportedly took place in Blaine, Minnesota. According to a Facebook post written by a relative, the elderly couple ordered a “carefully budgeted” $50 of groceries to be delivered to their home last Sunday.
“This past year has been a rollercoaster of heartache and big life changes for them. Money is tight. Vulnerability is high,” wrote Amber Gray.
Nothing was amiss until they went outside to meet the driver, Tara, for fear that she might struggle with her vehicle in their snow-covered driveway. When they opened the front door, Tara yelled at them to check their Christmas wreath while rocking her vehicle back and forth in the driveway.
At first the couple thought she might have been stuck, but then they read the note she had allegedly written on their receipt: “Instacart doesn’t pay employees sry [sic] find another slave f– the police racist pigs.”
Upon looking for their groceries, they found them smashed up in the driveway.
All because of their yard sign that reads “thank you Blaine P.D.”
“These people are two of the most beautiful, generous, loving souls I’ve ever known,” Gray said. “Tara probably doesn’t know how carefully those $50 in groceries were budgeted for. Or how devastating the recent medical diagnosis has been. Or how scared and vulnerable her vile act of hatred made them feel.”
“Supporting law enforcement doesn’t make you a racist. And it absolutely doesn’t give anyone the right to destroy your things or shatter your sense of safety.”

This would be the right move.
My wife had groceries delivered to an out of town relative via Instacart. One hot summer day the Instacart left the groceries on the porch without knocking on the door or calling as requested. Hours later he found it. The ice cream melted and the frozen foods spoiled.
My wife called Instacart and they refunded the entire order.
The downside was she was on the phone for two hours before they reversed the credit card charge.
Even after posting the pictures, I would still contact Instacart for a refund.

The article said it was so snowy that the woman feared for the driver in their driveway. Old people with fragile bones sometimes would choose to save on gas money and pay the difference to get a delivery rather than break a hip, which is often fatal for oldsters.
Secondly, the article mentioned that one of them had recently had a difficult diagnosis. So, for all you know, the man was bedridden, they were snowed in, and the woman was staying home to care for him. That may be why they tried to lighten their load during a snow-in to have groceries delivered.
Remember this post when you are old.
I presume you do not understand the physical condition of the elderly. This is actually an opportunity for Jesus-loving people like yourself to fetch the groceries on behalf of those people, not berate them. You toad.
Tara needs an attitude adjustment.

Thank you. Many disabilities are not visible to the human eye, and some people have multiple disabilities to deal with.
Not too long ago my husband and were grocery shopping, he with the cart, and me, on my own personal mobility scooter. A middle aged man walked by me and said “Too fricken lazy to walk.” It wasn’t a question, he was stating what he had already concluded without knowing me at all.
My reactions varied from “How rude” to where did you get your medical degree, and would you like to see my xrays? Advanced degenerative arthritis, COPD, take your pick.
Never, ever, make snap judgments.

I have never met you in person, but I believe that you are a man. I do not have the same feeling about that guy after look at a photo of him.
Yesterday I took a fall and tore my knee apart.
I keep a full cupboard so it is not an issue but going to the store is right out for next couple of weeks.
Limited mobility is an issue for older people.

A time like these last couple years are the perfect time for the church to rise up and be Christ to the world.
