ATLANTA (Reuters) - Death threats from angry Trump supporters forced Georgia election worker Ruby Freeman, a 62-year-old grandmother, to flee her home of 20 years. Some messages called for her hanging; one urged people to “hunt” her. Freeman showed hundreds of menacing messages to police and called 911 three times.
But a year after Donald Trump and his allies falsely accused Freeman - along with her daughter and co-worker Wandrea “Shaye” Moss - of election fraud, the threats have not been investigated by local police or state authorities, according to a Reuters review of Georgia law enforcement records. Federal agents have monitored some of the threats, but made no arrests.
Offering the first detailed account of their ordeal, the two women told Reuters about threats of lynching and racial slurs, along with alarming visits by strangers to the homes of Freeman and her mother. The intimidation began last December, a month after the 2020 election, when the Trump campaign released surveillance video they falsely claimed showed the two women, who are Black, opening “suitcases” full of phony ballots to rig the vote count in predominantly Black Fulton County, which includes part of Atlanta.

Among the uninvited visitors to Freeman’s home was a prominent Black supporter of Trump, Trevian Kutti, who said she came to offer help. A publicist for hip-hop artist and Trump supporter Kanye West, Kutti warned Freeman that she’d be arrested soon on voting fraud charges and sought to pressure her into confessing in exchange for help, Freeman said. (West has since changed his name to “Ye.”)
Freeman said she ended the conversation. The episode made her wonder who she could trust. She concluded: “Nobody.”

They had the felon and let her go? Lock 'em all up.
I don’t want to see her and her daughter hung.
I want to see them undergo a fair trial, and if convicted, sent to jail for 10-20 years.
But nothing will happen.
They don’t report the news, they push an agenda. Lots of made-up or opinion kind of BS in this article.
They are just preparing the potential jury members for their defense.
What was her side of the story?
That they were valid ballots that were under the table that she scanned multiple time after the site was closed for the flood?
And they were stored under the table until everyone else left because…
Gmafb
Do not look at the suitcase, look at we were threatened and had to leave.... see what those racist Trump supporters did!
This article flatly states that the accusations are false. I don’t know the details about this particular case, but if it hasn’t been determined one way or another then they shouldn’t be calling them false accusations. If they actually wanted to report the news they would say alleged, not false. Unless there is some definitive exculpatory evidence that proves the allegation false.
I’m sorry, how do we know the accusations of fraud were false? Oh, that’s right, this is the gaslight media. They just state that as fact, because gaslighting is what they do.
There are two sides to every story, and a news service that only reports on one of them isn’t being honest.
Reuters, in dire need of writers. What is the purpose
of this biased article other than to bash Trump, his
supporters, and mention West and hanging?
OH!! Could it be the poorly written Reuters tale is
attempting to get out in front of the fire about to be
unleashed? Taking cover is what they do best. Cheap deceit.
Ballots should not be touched or moved unless in the presence of Scrutineers.
To do otherwise is prima facia evidence of fraud.
Roll the tape and send these clowns back into oblivion
I’m sure Reuters mentioned them being caught on time stamped video processing ballots late at night after the observers were sent away.
Which are you going to believe? The Democrats or the Video tape?
...when the Trump campaign released surveillance video they falsely claimed showed the two women...[counting votes taken from boxes pulled from under a table, with no election monitors present, after creating a fake “burst waterline” issue to run off everyone else].
What is the basis for “falsely claimed” when this has not been investigated by an independent authority? The failure of government to administer the Rule of Law is why idiots might make threats (they should not — it only gives the left an excuse to hide and deflect from the original election crimes).
Spin it all you want, but Ruby Freeman committed felony election fraud. If there was any justice, she would spend a long time in prison.
Right. They just play the “already debunked” card, once or twice in the article, and the “falsely-accused” card two or three times, and that’s all we get of our side of the story.
The rest of the ink, lots of it, goes into the agonized feelings of the actual perpetrators.
