When the Dems have lost Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer's support for the mandate, you can be sure the political winds have shifted.
Federal courts have serially rebuked President Biden’s vaccine mandates for federal employees, federal contractors, and employers of over 100. But the mandates are not merely a legal disaster, they are becoming a political disaster as well.
Yesterday, two Democrat senators, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and John Tester of Montana, joined all 50 Republicans to vote to repeal the OSHA mandate for employers of over 100 workers. Under the terms of the Congressional Review Act, simple majorities of the House and Senate can repeal regulations issued by the executive branch. The New York Times downplayed it as “symbolic,” but Politico forthrightly characterized it as a “rebuke.”
It has been generally assumed that the House’s narrow Democrat majority will heed the Speaker’s push and vote down the bill. But there is ample evidence that Democrats are scared of the mandate’s political fallout. The Politico West Wing Playbook writes:
Three months ago, as California Gov. GAVIN NEWSOM was turning around his fate in the state's recall election, many Democrats came to the conclusion that they'd struck political gold. Mandates to get the Covid-19 vaccine weren't just extremely valuable public health policy but they were electorally powerful too.
Now, moderate and frontline members of the party are singing a different tune.

Whitmore is only against it because the unions tell her to be against it. Don’t try to make her opposition into being moral.
Mandate mostly means coercion.
You get a choice.. take the poison,even if you are ethically or morally opposed to it, or lose your job.
The other part that enters into it is why 100 people?
And why no concern for the millions of illegals occupying our country?
And why vaccinate children?
they are becoming a political disaster as well.

They deserve every bit of it.

OSHA makes a mandate (rule/regulation/law) and Congress has to VOTE to overturn it?!
Okay, I get it. Congress makes a law, then creates a Department to figure out the regulations necessary to make that law work. But those Departments have become more and more powerful. Take the EPA (Please!). It is supposed to improve the air. Okay, mission met. Get rid of the Department, or destaff it. But no. Each year every Department gets bigger and mission-creeps its mandate further and further. The Département of energy, established to reduce America’s dependance on foreign oil, has, arguably, no longer a place in the pantheon of super-powerful Departments. But it too has gotten bigger each year.
Each Department should have a shadow overseer in Congress that evaluates everything it does and occasionally slaps its overreaching hand.
But having to vote on something a Department has done seems to have created a new and unconstitutional organization.
I’m curious too. My husband is about to be forced out 2 1/2 years before his originally planned retirement.

The communists always overstep their bounds in their efforts to push their demonic agenda. They’re like a drop of raw sewage in a gallon of pure water. They destroy everything they touch...everything. Hopefully, a lot of people are waking up to that realization.
...I am curious as well....what is going to happen to those thousands, maybe millions, of American workers all across the work spectrum who were fired because they would not take the jab to save their jobs....?? this country has gotten so far off the rails I fear it may never return....
The Brandon Administration knew that most of these mandates would be struck down in the courts. Much like the eviction moratorium extension, they were just biding time. They were just trying to scare more people into getting the jab.
I don’t believe that many will have to pay, at least not in this life. That said, they WILL have to pay in eternity.
Gavin Newsome doesn’t lead the way for anything. He’s just the opposite, an outlier in a state with increasingly bizarre politics that are more and more out of touch from the rest of the nation.
Speaking from Montana about Tester. He has gone along with Obama’s worst programs and now Biden’s. Except as he closes in re-election time. Guess who’s closing in on re-election. This state must send that tub of fat back to the farm in Big Sandy.
You hit at least 3 nails on the head! Each of these points only seem to be barely touched on or else ignored by the lamestream media, namely:
If not being vaccinated is such a deadly societal concern, then why are 1000’s of incoming illegal aliens not vaccinated on arrival?
If you are a “my body - my choice” abortion supporter, well then at least be consistent about vac mandates.
If the prepondereance of deadly cases are with 65+ age group, why not focus efforts there and not waste time on 5 yo’s?
If Florida has, by far the lowest case/death rate in the nation, why not celebrate that and encourage all the others to emulate their system?
We can only hope. This is a good first step. Now we need to get companies and organizations to rescind their mandates. Then we need people to wake up to the danger these experimental treatments represent. Then, yeah Nuremberg II.
