Maybe. Sort of. At nano scales. That are probably not scalable upwards.
But, Sonny needs funding and who knows... Maybe his team really is on to something this time.

Did a chupacabra emerge from it?
Too bad Art Bell is no longer here to take advantage of this.

I saw that episode. Beverly Crusher deserved an Emmy for that one.

I think the reporter didn’t practice good due diligence. He might want to talk to Prof. David Pares at https://www.qed-ne.com/ before making claims about a ‘first’.

I kept waiting for the article to take the next step in the discussion; i.e. “Therefore What?”
**At first mention, I thought they were referring to a still unproved event or phenomena best known as the
infamous “Philadelphia Experiment”
Some describe it as ‘an urban legend about a supposed U.S. Naval experiment on invisibility carried out in 1943.

This is all good, if true.
However, the big question is why do the Klingons have a cloaking device, and the Federation doesn't?

Maybe they should watch what they wish for. Remember the video game Half-Life -I know it is fiction, BUT what if they DID let something like this happen and they let some sort of entity through then how would they stop it?

Sorry but we’ve had the technology for a flying car since…the 1950s? They are only now (well order one from Japan SkyDrive delivered 2026) making one , for an estimated 1/2 a million or something each.
We will be starting on a Star Trek enterprise in a few years….right.
This thing is barely on the fringe of possibility, will never happen. Unless we evolve ourselves to be much more intelligent as a species.
Or develop A.I. Which actually might be more likely.
