The Best Time to Take Your Supplements: Your body uses vitamins and minerals in different ways—and timing makes a difference

If you are taking supplements, two things are critical to get the most out of them: quality and timing. You need to start with quality products made by reputable manufacturers, and you need to know the best time to take your supplements, including which ones should and shouldn’t be taken along with others.

We’re not going to talk about quality and reputation here. Instead, let’s discuss the timing of your supplement use and how you can optimize the rewards from each of your choices. One approach to supplement use is to consider which ones to take during three main parts of the day: morning, afternoon, and evening.

Morning Supplements

Here’s a tip: two of the morning supplements—vitamins E and CoQ10—should be taken with healthy fats. We suggest avocado toast or a green smoothie with avocado or coconut oil as a breakfast choice containing healthy fats!

Afternoon Supplements

Several of these supplements should be taken with food, so immediately after lunch is a convenient and easy-to-remember time to take them.

Evening Supplements

Other Things to Know About Taking Supplements

Keep these tips in mind when choosing and taking your supplements.

Bottom Line

To get the most benefit from your nutritional supplements, it’s essential to adjust the timing of your dosing and know which supplements you should take in combination with others. And if you can’t remember to take your supplements at specific times, just do it when you remember to and enjoy the benefits to your health.

How did our ancestors do it, aside from making sure they ate from a wide variety of foods.

Until the beginning of the 20th century, the soils weren't as depleted, and there was frontier available. The air wasn't contaminated. The fruits, vegetables, fish, fowl and meat had been developed by nature to survive; weak species died off. There were no chemical food additives or colorings. There were no processed foods or fats. People ate local, organic and seasonal foods all the time, because that's all there was.

Well, let’s be sure to include EVERYONE and according to their situation. So as a drug user, should the druggies start with ibuprofen before the daily doobie, and then the 8-ball, and finishing up with meth and a whisky shot? Is this the right order?

I would go with taking the ibuprofen with a whiskey chaser then the first doobie of the day. Then the 8-ball, a little later another doobie, then the meth. Polish the day off with a big fat joint laced with heroin. A double shot of whiskey for a night cap.
Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

A lot of Vitamins are Fat-Soluble, if you don’t get enough fats in your diet, you won’t absorb them.

Don’t be late, I won’t be there long.
I’m having myself crispy crittered!
Nothing but a bag of bone chips to look at afterwards.

“That’s good fertilizer!”

Yep. I’ve arranged to have my ashes used to fertilize a beautiful Rose garden. No pushing up daisies for my ass. I’m going FIRST CLASS BABY.
