Ya know, all of this was written about in the book “The Handmaid’s Tale” published way back in 1986. (I’m talking about the book, not the tv show, which I’ve never watched.) Of course, the villains in the book were the conservative Christians, who had taken over the government through a civil war, where they would stone liberal abortionists in the street medieval style. The culture had gone completely digital money (debit cards) and they were able to lock the funds of their enemies (liberal feminists). I remember it so distinctly because I was in college at the time I read the book and shortly after reading it, my bank issued me a debit card unrequested to replace my check book and I thought, “I’m not using this!”
Question…can Chinese dissidents use it ? Because that’s where this is headed. Google did all their testing on the Chinese population and everybody tried to warn the American public, but no one cared.

Anyone who doesn’t believe we are in WWIII right now is not paying attention.
This new war is unlike anything ever seen before. It’s a war using information and access to it as the weapon. Like any war it will get violent and go kinetic at some point.
The problem is glaringly simple for us good guys. How do we communicate and fight back against this global evil elitists when they hold all the communication cards? If we were smart, those of us who know how, would be developing a way we can communicate in parallel with the new axis of evil empire without them being able to stop it without stopping themselves. There’s always a way. Then when it goes kinetic the masses can organize to remove the bad guys were they have slithered to. Remember; we outnumber them a billion to one.
It could be I think, I also play with a similar protocol chat/file sharing program called “QTox”. Both use onion and bit torrent protocols. I could be mistaken, but I have read it can fly under the radar in tightly controlled systems like china has. I would not bank on it though... Thankfully we are not there yet. But these clients are a huge step towards fighting against it.
I confess, I am just a tightwad... If I can do the same thing in my own box or external drive I am going to try that first before I buy anything. lol :)

When I hung out on underground BBS’ individual “servers’ consisted of 1 or 2 dozen 8086 or 286 desktops that were stripped of all but basics.
You dialed in locally. Correspondence across nodes in the network consisted of encrypted packet mail distributed at intervals via landline or internet.
I lived it too. And in reality, setting up dial in SMS/packet mail servers would be pretty easy.
