A new report revealed that departing staffers for Vice President Harris are leaving their White House posts in part due to concerns of being forever labeled a "Harris person."
A growing list of Harris staffers are heading out the door amid internal chaos and disastrous poll numbers.
The concern of being labeled a "Harris person," as well as burnout and desire for greener pastures, are driving the exodus from the vice president’s office, sources familiar with the chaos in the VP's office told Axios.
One anonymous Democratic strategist said that Harris needs "someone loyal, who can think methodically to best position the vice president and to make sure everything she’s doing is being maximized and communicated to a broad population and get her numbers up."
A different Democratic operative close to the veep’s office told Axios that the staff departures are lighting a fire under chief of staff Tina Flournoy to keep the sinking ship afloat.
"If we mess this up, it's going to set women back when it comes to running for higher office for years to come," the operative said.
The label of being a "Harris person" apparently carries a weighted stigma with it in Washington — something that does not bode well for the fledgling veep as her first year in office begins to wrap up.

It almost certainly won't prevent more women being picked for the Dem Presidential running mate. I think it'll probably be automatic when the top of the ticket is a man. And it will probably continue to be a woman of color if the man is white.
Kamala constantly undermines herself by the way she acts during interviews, by the ways she does not act when given assignments by her Boss, the “President”.
She must think people haven’t noticed these patterns of behavior. Oh, but we have.
That label at least comes with an implied promise of “protection”, with the added aspect of inspiring fear of all manner of mysteriously bad consequences among those who might imagine the possibility of raising a political, or even an actual, hand against you.
Harris hasn’t got that kind of mojo and probably never will.
I assume the Harris name originated as "son of Harry" (like Harrison) so not all families with the name are necessarily related. I don't know if her Jamaican father got the name from British ancestors but in any case I take comfort in the idea that any blood relationship is extremely unlikely.

I’ve worked for a few crazies through the years - mainly ‘wives of the wealthy’ who ‘ran’ non-profit organizations. I’d imagine working for this Affirmative Action a-hole would compare. I’d be hittin’ the bricks, too!
Can’t be a well know male. Creates the optic that a man has to show a woman how to run things. An unknown male is fine people have staff of both genders.

Her top staff seems to be all women. Compare with Hillary. Her top people were mainly men.
