On Nov. 4, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced an emergency temporary standard (ETS) directing larger employers to take steps to keep their workplaces safe from COVID-19 by either requiring vaccinations or weekly testing and masks for those who are not vaccinated.
This effort has been blocked, at least temporarily, and is now being considered by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. For the moment, OSHA has suspended implementation and enforcement of the requirements pending future developments in the litigation.

Contrary to what its critics are labeling it, the OSHA standard does not require that anyone get vaccinated. Large and medium-size employers (it covers only those with 100 or more workers) have the option to require unvaccinated workers to wear a mask on the job and test negative for COVID-19 at least weekly. They can also require those workers to do their jobs exclusively from home. Or the employer—not OSHA—can insist their workers get vaccinated.

I'm posting this as an example of the media's role in this effort.
Boy, did you nail it in this. Damn, do I despise Leftist POS media outlets, although the anemic Time can hardly be even drawing breath...thinner than a comic book, and less real content.
So, according to Time, this is all overblown, you don't have to get the vaccine and can wear a mask and get tested weekly.
What they deliberately left out is that companies are not required (and likely, WILL NOT) pay for the cost of the weekly test which is on average about $150. (this is at the OSHA website, that the companies are not required to cover the cost. That means, if a company can use that financial burden to coerce you to get vaccinated, they will NOT pay for the test. Will anyone contest that?)
How many people out there can handle a $150 a week pay cut? I am sure there are some who could. But many people cannot.
And how is it constitutional to force people to purchase a product or service at the point of a regulatory gun?
This is evil. Pure, unadulterated evil. And as you say, the media in general, and Time in particular in this case, are complicit and collaborating accomplices with a tyrannical government.
Think of that.
These media people are unbelievable idiots. Many of us cannot do our jobs exclusively from home. Not everybody talks for a living, or codes. And I am not going to take that devil’s brew. So, it comes down to a vaccine mandate.
MSM BS!
Pure pass the buck. Blame it on the victims.
Selective facts as the Biden Administration & OSHA were actively pursuing added ability to apply these orders against the 'under 100' employer groups. Time Magazine is nothing that its founder, Henry B Luce, would recognize as journalism.
Just bear in mind that the “unvaccinated” have far more to fear from the “vaccinated” than the other way ‘round. It’s the “vaccinated” — the breeders of each new variant and the spreaders of all variants — who need to be isolated from the Left’s “collective” (formerly, “society”).
Requiring a worker to “test negative” for a virus that has become endemic is really not giving the worker an alternative, its harassing them out of work unless they take an experimental gene therapy that probably has little to no positive benefit against current strains but is known to be dangerous. Its beyond stupid and is just criminally malicious.
This will have little impact on the company mandates. Risk averse companies have no reason to not force vaccines. They are not liable for adverse reactions.
The fed threatened private companies w fines.
This is beyond the scope given to Executive Branch.
They did this as no one is afraid of the GOP-e
No, they are not. They have an agenda and are steadily working toward the goal. Their goal, turning the US into a communist country through propaganda, has almost been reached.
Thank you for reaching to the office of Representative Dexter about COVID-19 guidance and the OHA's plans with Smart Health Cards.
The OHA is developing a voluntary digital vaccine verification tool to provide the people of Oregon an electronic way to share their vaccination status with businesses that ask for proof of verification. Using the tool is optional as a way to have an electronic version of the paper vaccination card, particularly for people who do not have a healthcare provider. This tool is modeled off similar ones already being used in Washington and California. OHA anticipates making its voluntary tool available for free for anyone in Oregon who chooses to use it in the Spring of 2022. You are welcome to share your thoughts with the executive branch particularly the Oregon Health Authority
and Governor Brown , who create the guidance for COVID-19 safety measures.
Please reach out to your trusted healthcare clinician with questions or concerns you have about the vaccine or masks.
Once again, thank you for reaching out.
Sincerely, Lauren Morrison (she/her) ________________________________________ Chief of Staff Office of Representative Maxine Dexter Oregon State Legislature, House District 33 (o)
“What do we call that, children?”
Does it begin with an ‘F’?
There will be a rash of unexplained fires in Oregon if they push this ‘vaxx access’ BS.
Guaranteed.
LOL, now that is funny!
I did not remember the exact post from an hour or so ago, and just got home-and my first thought was “F**ked”...that begins with an ‘F’!
Then, after a few seconds, I remembered the context of the point I was trying to make-yes-it does begin with an ‘F’...as you know, ‘Fascism’!
“And how is it constitutional to force people to purchase a product or service at the point of a regulatory gun?...”
Remember Obamacare?
The OSHA ETS states;
“This section does not require the employer to pay for any costs associated with testing; however employer payment for testing may be required by other laws, regulations, or collective bargaining agreements or other collectively negotiated agreements.”
In my state any medical cost incurred to obtain or retain employment must be born by the employer. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. That’s why my previous employer is bluffing employees into getting vaccinated, they say they want vaccinations at 100%. There’s a labor contract involved, which means any change must be bargained. It’s all in limbo now but there’s no way employees will have to pick up the cost of testing if they choose to not be vaccinated.
All the alternatives to getting vaccinated are proof that the rule is not in response to an emergency.
That may be in your state, in your company, with your labor agreement, but I would be surprised if that were widespread.
I work in an industry where that won’t even be an option.
