It would only require one or two results this weekend – none of them farfetched – for Notre Dame to reach the College Football Playoff for the third time in four seasons, including each of the past two.
Maybe Georgia blows out Alabama. Maybe Baylor or Iowa beat Oklahoma State or Michigan. Maybe Cincinnati stumbles. That’s it. That’s all it would take.
If it happens, Notre Dame will compete once again in the playoff … only this time without its head coach.
It is the latest example of a sport gone mad – with money, with realignment, with championship aspirations, with deception and ego, and power plays and who knows what other good soap opera stuff. Whatever it is, know this: Brian Kelly is expected to leave Notre Dame after 12 seasons to take over a rebuilding project at LSU.

I guess he wanted be be the highest paid college football head coach. 🙂
Tennessee might lose Heupel to OU.
hope your 2nd tier rating makes it to the houston bulletin board before the game saturday
I don’t think it’s anything gone mad at all. It’s just that people who do not work in the sports industry expect it to be something it isn’t. In the end it’s a job. And people leave jobs for jobs they consider better all the time. Whether it’s more pay, better possibility of achieving desired goals, or better people around the job (like boosters or the AD). Brian Kelley decided that other job would be better. We’ve all done the same thing. It just didn’t generate a press release.
I actually like that.
Go Gators!
You will need to use your imagination on this one...
Q. Why do Seminoles do this? (Imagine the tomahawk chop)
A. This is too complicated for them (Imagine the Gator chomp)
Why? Derek Mason didn’t even try a blitz with Ala on its 3 yard line with 1:40 left and no time outs. Defense sucked.
One of my hopes for Napier is that he can bring some of those Louisiana boys to Florida.

napier is a great hire for the gators!
the sunbelt has been producing some attractive head coaches lately.
he really doesn’t need to leave the state or south georgia to put a great team together every season..
mullens is the one who made the bad decision to go to florida, imo. he could have state at mittittippi tate for the rest of his career by just staying bowl eligible most every year.
The Auburn defense was fantastic until the end of the game, Alabama ran over 30 plays more than Auburn during the game, the Auburn offense could not stay on the field and gave Alabama way to many chances eventually that will bite you in the ass....plus one offensive mistake that cost them game, the RB ran out of bounds, if he stays inbounds are the offense makes one more first down, Auburn wins that game...
I didn’t realize when Mullen was hired, he’d be such a poor recruiter.
Everybody thought “Well he did that at Mississippi State, imagine what he could do at Florida with their resources.” Well he didn’t do much. Apparently he thought 8 wins at Florida would be as acceptable as it was in Starkville.
Prevent Defense Prevents Victories!
If you look at the RB in slow replay you cab see he got possession and was dragged out immediately. Almost no time to go down. Did he have a second to just fall down?
Oh yeah, SEC Shorts noticed...
Auburn and Texas A&M show up early to claim their wins

mississippi is a hot bed of juco recruiting.
he can fill in any voids every year
Not really. LSU is simply a better job.
Many years ago, Notre Dame was matched up with Oregon State coached by Dennis Erickson, and Colin Cowherd was a radio sports personality in Portand.
When Cowherd saw the two teams run onto the field for warm-ups, he called his friends and told them to bet a lot of money on Oregon State. He said the Notre Dame players look like boys and the Oregon State players were huge and very fast and athletic in comparison to Notre Dame.
Oregon State had two future NFL Pro-Bowlers at wide receiver and two defensive ends that had considerable success in the NFL.
Oregon State crushed Notre Dame.
Notre Dame’s performance in the playoffs has been pathetic; and they should be heavily discounted when the Committee selects the four teams for the BCS playoffs.
It’s all about fundraising.
It seems like these schools have no problems getting rich alums to kick in tens of millions for buyouts and bonuses.
I’m a big UC fan. When Kelly left UC it was worse. He blatantly lied to his players up to the day he got down on his belly and slithered out of town. That was going into the most important game in UC history at the time. I hate to see his lying, ultra liberal BS taken to the SEC.
