The difference in quality of lawyers between this and the Rittenhouse case is striking:
Rittenhouse case: incompetent prosecution, defense just enough better to win.
Arbery case: competent prosecution, pretty bad defense counsel.
Of course the facts were a lot different, and good facts make for good cases (for one side).

I really didn’t see this one turning out not guilty.

It seems that self defense was a stretch as they chased and confronted the individual with firearms.

On your own property, in your own house, in your car... stand your ground and defend yourself.

Don’t chase someone down and detain unless you are physically capable of subduing the individual.

If the guy was a murderer and you were chasing him down... maybe it’s justifiable. But not if he’s suspected of burglary.
