Don’t pour a full beer into the turkey fryer.
Saw this done. It wasn’t pretty.

We purchased a turkey fryer in 2010 to try it. We have never had a turkey any other way since. It is the most tender meat ever. No baked/roasted turkey can compare.
To: GeorgiaDawg32
Make sure your turkey is fully thawed and patted dry.

I’ve done this many many times and this is great advice. Except I never ever pay attention to #13.

Some of the deep-fried turkey videos on YouTube look like a home-brew version of operating a
bessemer converter.

To: Jonty30
You forgot the /s tag. And there will be someone who believes you, I’m sure.
Happy Thanksgiving! From a turkey in the oven roaster..
Firemen will appreciate the PSA article , however. So will Farmers’ Insurance, and others.

3) The night before, inject it with the sauce of your choice (We use a butter/garlic sauce). You can use hot sauce, italian etc. etc.. Inject it into the meat all over the turkey and leave in the fridge overnight so the sauce can saturate the meat. Serious question - not meant to be sarcastic:
Why would you go to this trouble if later you're just going to dunk that turkey in water? Effectively unsaturating the meat?

In years past while frying my bird outdoors I remember hearing sirens much too frequently for a Thanksgiving morning.
I now know those sirens were headed over towards those who did exactly this but inside of their garages.

Addendum
I have to admit my youngest, most excellent, brother has experience with turkey bomb fires, his quote, “If God didn’t want us to blow up frozen turkeys, He wouldn’t have given us oil and fire.” So there’s that.
