The only thing for which leftists are thankful is that they have absolutely no reason to be thankful at all.
This week, millions of Americans from all walks of life will sit down with friends and family to enjoy the bliss of food and fellowship. And somewhere amid the warmth and frivolity of this great American tradition, most will stop to count their blessings and give thanks to God.

For a leftist Thanksgiving must be the pits. To be thankful...is there anything more antithetical to the left's worldview? Imaginary injustice lurks behind every corner. Unconscious prejudice taints every good deed. Every wholesome tradition props up the "supremacy" of some unworthy culture. No, no, who could be thankful for all that? Dividing people for sport and insisting they feel miserable in their lives are the fuels that propel leftist power. Something must always be wrong, and someone, somewhere, must always be blamed. When life is seen as nothing more than a series of battles on the bloody path to "progressive" Utopia, every day must end in failure — and what kind of human being could possibly be thankful for that?
"Before we pass around the tofu turkey, let's give thanks to Karl Marx."
"Perhaps we should first apologize to Mother Earth for the damage we've caused her."

Ha, ha,ha...a tofu turkey!!!
Not much mention if how special this Thanksgiving is: it is the 400th anniversary of the event!
Isn’t that what life is all about to a Leftist progressive, making the lives of others horrible so as to enrich their already miserable lives, unless of course you are an elite Leftist, which would then infer making everyone else’s lives horrible while they eat their cake and scoff, demean, and belittle your puny existence.
A tofu turkey with a side of crybaby sauce.
“Thanksgiving is: it is the 400th anniversary of the event!”
It is. Thanks for the reminder. The left plays down these historic events.
Last year was the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower crossing and the best commemoration was a special stamp, IIRC.
I have an ultra liberal/socialist/communist sister-in-law.
I’m thankful that we will be over 1,500 miles apart this year!
No sight no sound and no smell of the rotten skank.
Makes for a happy thanksgiving!
Not having Thanksgiving with my Left Wing Biden voting family again this year. And will not see them at Christmas.
While they all complain about Trump, the 1% and rich Republicans, they all have good jobs, own homes, three cars in their family, kids went to college, etc. But as with all Democrats, something is always wrong. They are never happy.
“The left plays down these historic events.”
Yes, it interferes with their “400 years of slavery” lie.
Good summary of leftist mentality.
***”Before we pass around the tofu turkey,***
I remember every Thanksgiving around fifty years ago, the news media would rush to see what various vegetarian groups were eating.
When it was always the same, the news media decided to start interviewing American Indians for their views.
Yes, it is. Saving that one. We’re keeping it simple this year. Just me and the missus. Were we unfortunate enough to have some whiny shitlib relative open their yawp at the dinner table, my response would be to use their nose to plow a fresh furrow in the vegetable garden. Frozen ground? Tough nuggets.
Although a value on the Left, the ugliest of human characteristics is ingratitude.
Much closer than 1500 miles, the 60 miles will nicely suffice, here. Showing no appreciation for that which came
before us, the day is filled with much food, more liberals, and far too much football. That knitted family has gone so far over the edge even her siblings have been cancelled.
Here’s to better times and brighter days.
A Blessed Thanksgiving to you and yours.
This essay is a keeper. It well encapsulates the affliction of leftist “living.” They’ve abandoned the pursuit of happiness and expect the world to follow suit.
