So there is going to be a Webb telescope, and there is already a Hubble telescope. Webb Hubble?

Seems like Musk is able to run circles around NASA/Boeing.

The Webb Space Telescope is an international partnership with the European and Canadian space agencies.

Well that explains a lot.

Using the Ariane5 for this isn’t the best decision NASA ever made.

I will be a Major accomplishment if this thing reaches orbit.

Then we will evaluate whether or not it will even power up.

That’s the last time they’ll invite Joe Biden, or make sure to spread some newspaper.

Development began in 1996 for a launch that was initially planned for 2007 and a US$500 million budget. The total cost is now projected to be around 10 billion. Reading about another delay made me giggle, as this whole project has siphoned away money from other research in astronomy.

Science has long ago shown there is no such thing as a perpetual motion machine but projects like the Webb Telescope demonstrate that Government spending is a perpetual waste machine
