Kyle Rittenhouse Awarded AR-15 for 'Defense of Gun Rights' Following Acquittal
Accused shooter Kyle Rittenhouse has been awarded an AR-15 assault rifle from an organization called Gun Owners of America (GOA) for his "defense of gun rights" following his acquittal from homicide charges.
"ALERT: GOA will be awarding Kyle Rittenhouse with an AR-15 for his defense of gun rights in America," GOA wrote in a Friday morning tweet. "Join us in saying THANK YOU to Kyle Rittenhouse for being a warrior for gun owners and self defense rights across the country!"

— Gun Owners of America (@GunOwners) November 19, 2021 Rittenhouse used an AR-15 style rifle to kill Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, as well as injure Gaige Grosskreutz in Kenosha, Wisconsin on August 25, 2020.
Rittenhouse pleaded self-defense to homicide charges related to the incident. A jury found him not guilty on Friday.
Prosecution attorneys argued that Rittenhouse's victims had initially approached him out of fear that he was an active shooter. At the time of the killings, Rittenhouse was 17 years old and too young to purchase or possess such a firearm. His friend, Dominick Black, purchased it for him, Black said at the trial.

All my ARs are now KR15s.
Where was the NRA in all of this? I got six fundraising letters already this year to “fight the gun grabbers agenda,” (which is actually kind of low for them) but haven’t seen bupkis about what they were actually doing or even saying about this case before it was over, and even then they just tweeted out the text of the 2nd Amendment.
Come on man! Everyone knows that it’s “AK-15” because that’s what Pelosi says.

Imagine a black 17 year old kid walking into the fray while white KKK democrats were burning down a black city. And the black teenager, carrying a gun decides HE will try to protect some of the town's buildings.

It was as much a private property rights case as anything. The gas station where it all started and where Kyle stayed up until they started attacking him, is owned by his grandparents. They came on to his property to attack him.

Oh, yeah. I confiscated BB guns from my boys, too. The day the shot windows out of the barn - THAT WASN’T OURS - was one time I (and they!) DISTINCTLY remember!
Other than that, we always enjoyed target practice and skeet shoots, etc.

However, an email from Erich Pratt at GOA gives Kyle a choice:
“Let me say upfront, that we want to be a blessing to Kyle. If he would prefer a scholarship or grant toward his nursing studies instead, then we will auction off the firearm and contribute the proceeds for that purpose.
Repeating the lie does not make it truth. Same for the "possession" quote. It was legal under Wisconsin law...
