Reporting on skyrocketing ingredients prices for Thanksgiving Day. Please feel free to chime in!
Our local shop rite has some pretty decent sales. Box of sweet potatoes 2.35 (about a dozen in each box), broccoli in cheese sauce 1.09/pk., turkey breast after coupon 8.00.
I was glad to find whole cranberries at Market Basket. Have no idea what I paid for them.
Meanwhile........the parasitic BIDEN CRIME FAMILY are all going to posh Nantucket for Thanksgiving.......sucking up tax dollars on AF ONE, LUXURY HOTELS AND ENDLESS FEASTING.
ON OUR DIME.

How many Bidens are going? How much is it costing taxpayers to house, feed, and convey the Biden family's Thanksgiving in Nantucket?
They've done this before.......did Joe Biden use his VP or Senate resources for earlier Nantucket thanksgivings?
With bidenflation this year it’s going have to hot dogs on a stick and pretend your camping the kids may buy it.
THAT I have noticed.
Market Basket has had them on sale for $1.69. Hannafords has them on sale next week for even less, but it looks to me as if the packages are smaller.
I stock up and freeze them. I then use them for cranberry apple pie or cranapple crisp.
I have enough home canned cranberry sauce to last a while.
Just going through the checkout and should have brought my biden did that stickers. Plenty of empty shelves and outrageous prices. But no more mean tweets /s.
Cranberries were 99 cents a bag last year and they are now a $1.89 a bag “on sale.”
Have bags. Do you have recipe?
Thanks
Cranberry sauce has always been one of my Zombie Apocalypse hoarding overstock items—guess it will pay off this year.
Yeah I should can cranberry sauce too. I guess I will have more time to do that after I retire in January. Then I can go to working only one full-time job. I do love to can though.
Yeah before the Mars company went woke with their Pro transgender commercial I bought some M&Ms and they were half the size of the bag they were last year for a slight increase in price
There should be one on the back of the bag.
What I do for sauce is make it according to the directions on the bag, and then can it up.
I have the jars and lids good and hot, then pour the cranberry sauce right into the jar and seal it immediately. You could process it for a few minutes but I have done it without the processing. Because cranberry sauce has so much sugar, it gets to a higher boiling point than just water and seals just fine. The sugar and acid keep it from spoiling once the lid pops down.
If the recipe is not on the back of the bag, let me know and I will look mine up. If they have changed the bag size, then my recipe may not be right.
Buy the cranberries now, then.
They keep pretty well and once they are gone for the season, you’ll be out of luck.
Usually they are in the stores through Christmas though.
That’s too bad about Mars.
I did notice the packages were smaller.
I bought a bunch of M& M’s last year in sale and vacuum sealed them in canning jars. I have the attachments you can use for canning jars. They work great.
I had one bag left from last year in the freezer
Sooty but that doesn’t sound like very good eatin’
I haven’t kept precise track, but I’m tempted to sell a kidney so that I can keep shopping at the Publix in Pensacola.
There’s also a great pub in eastern Pensacola called McGuire’s, which is an Irish-themed steakhouse. Some of the steak dishes are as high as $50. So when I go there, I generally stick to the Irish grub that they also serve, which ranges from around $15 to $20.
