A customer who was accused of throwing hot soup in a restaurant manager's face was arrested and charged with assault on Wednesday.
Amanda Martinez, 31, was booked into the Bell County Jail after a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Martinez has been charged with assault causing bodily injury and is now being held on a $5,000 bond.
A viral TikTok video captured the moment Martinez reportedly threw menudo soup in manager Jannelle Broland's face at the Sol de Jalisco restaurant in Temple, Texas, on November 7.
Broland, 24, was doused in the soup after Martinez angrily confronted her, claiming it was so hot that the plastic lid had melted into it.

scalding not scolding
scald is hot or being burnt
scold is being told off
"Excuse me Miss, but the cover on my bowl of soup has melted. Can I have another cover or another bowl of soup that is not so hot?"
Civility.
I find this interesting... Scalding can’t be any hotter than boiling at atmospheric pressure. Everything we cook (pretty much) suggests bringing the water to a boil. 212 degrees, that’s as hot as the water gets. Even a percolator gets the coffee to that temperature just to function.
Let’s see... my soup is too hot. i can: a.) Take the lid off, and let it cool a bit, or b.) Assault and possibly permanently injure a fellow human being. Have to admit, that’s a pretty tough choice...
The lock down has forced a lot of crazy out of hiding and into the open. I am sure some of her friends and family are not all that shocked by her throwing soup..
Some people can’t, or won’t put on a public face anymore. And the left was already attracting crazy, and now they’ve congregated like lemmings. or a huge herd of wildebeests, Or a herd of walkers.
Took to this post to notice it? The posters above should hang their heads in shame.
him should be her.
I am much more concerned running in to a mentally ill person than I am a person with Covid. Clearly the mentally ill are a far greater threat to society.
Thus, instead of mandating masks we should be mandating personal carry.
Back in the day...I had a bumpers tier made...two words...CELEBRATE CIVILITY

Thanks, but re-read it. It says water that has turned to steam can get hotter.
But the steam actually doesn’t because to superheat it it has to be pressurized and subjected to a higher temperature.
212 is as hot as pure water can get. Additives can raise the boiling point, so it may be possible for soups and stews to be above 212.
well behaved women rarely make history I guess
Lying headline. The soup had cooled by that time.
This insane woman is one step away from becoming a street Bitch. There is no place in our society for dangerous and insane people like her.
When America’s mental hospitals were closed down: Many people were and are still incapable of caring for themselves in yesterday’s and today’s world. Many are dangerous to others like this B$tch.
So, they drift out and around the edges of society and ended up: On our sidewalks, under-the-bridges, lodging in tent cities or in so called homeless cities/centers which were often the only alternatives for many of these individuals besides being in jail.
The number of these people will increase due to the unlimited immigration of unskilled illegals, and our schools not teaching nor requiring reading/writing and basic math.
These people often have basically zero skills to earn a living in today’s and tomorrow’s world.
Unfortunately, many of the dangerous and insane people are on our streets and are capable of exploding like a dangerous time bomb like this insane B$tch did.
I like for my soup to be hot......strange!!!!!
I’m old. When I was in school, I was forced to learn things that actually mattered.
The first question the judge needs to ask her
WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE A MONKEY?.
If you consider throwing boiling soup into someone's face for no reason, then yes.
