An increasing number of attacks by the animals, including one that bit a police officer last week, triggered an operation Wednesday night in a district less than half an hour’s drive from Hong Kong’s financial center

Previous attempts to relocate and sterilize the boars “could not effectively control the wild pig nuisance,” the department said.

Last week, a wild boar knocked down an auxiliary police officer and bit his leg before plunging to its death from a residential car park.

“There were about 30 cases of wild boars attacking humans, we can’t simply sit on our hands while things deteriorate,”

Do they have this problem in Texas?

My wife was visiting friends in Texas and a sudden commotion arose. They were grabbing rifles and asking my wife if she wanted to join in??? They had a jeep at ready...

Hogs spotted on a remote video camera.

Is there video? Because I would watch that.

Apparently it is a big deal in south Texas. Open season on them I believe. Hunt them with AK’s and 30 round mags if desired....I think.

They only declare a problem after a government agent is harmed, just like here.

Hong Kong is one of the most crowded places in the world. How can there be a problem with wild boars there?

Let’s see … Would I prefer to be surrounded by a pack of wild boars or surrounded by a pack of HUNGRY wild boars?

Liberals are some of the stupidest people on earth no matter where they live.

The Chinese eat anything. We may have a solution to the Chinese pork shortage.

I live in central Texas and killed a feral boar hog Tuesday night right before midnight. It's open season year round.

My thermal scope (ATN) is also a video camera, so I recorded this 85 yard shot.

Much of the US southland. Berlin, Germany. Parts of Israel. Wild hogs are a plague and a pestilence, with a sky high breeding rate.

The best bet in the US would be to set up large facilities near the border, put in herds numbering in the thousands, feed them with anti-parasitic agents and antibiotics, then turn them over as a group to the Mexican government or pork business for ranching or slaughter.

Overnight wiping out hunger in Mexico and probably central America.

Too bad we can’t train them to patrol the border. Or CAN WE?
I’m sure INS would appreciate the help! Just have to make sure they could tell the illegals from the border patrol….

Smaller ones up to 150 pounds or so are edible. Beyond that they get tough and gamey-tasting as I understand it.

I’d like to spend a few days hunting them someplace where they’re plentiful and a nuisance. I’m in Wisconsin and we don’t have any in these parts as far as I know.

The Mexicans would turn them into carnitas tacos in short order. I bet they would taste great even from a TJ street vendor.
