I’ve got a group photo of my dad and other who wad just finished basic and were headed off to Europe for WWII. I swear by the look on their faces, some starlet is flashing them and saying something like “Don’t forget what you’re fighting for boys.”
Mostly big grins, a few bashful smiles and a few who looked disgusted or have turned away.
