That’s how “Dances with Wolves” went too. It was a masterwork of cinematography and storytelling, but the theme was largely ‘white men bad. indian good’ to the point where Costner leaves the army to join the Souix. He’s then OK with killing the detail that arrested him as a traitor.

Not exactly Red State stuff, however great the setting and film quality.

I’m watching re-runs of Tom Selleck’s Jesse Stone series. They are all excellent.

I haven’t seen Yellowstone but it sounds like it appeals to the same people who like Blue Bloods, which is highly successful and going on 12 years.

“Costner’s “The Postman” was a top movie.”

It was awful. Just awful.

Dances with Wolves

Postman = Dances with Myself

The cable car posing scene was a bit over the top.

Longmire was great until the cancellation. The writing after they brought it back slowly went woke and I gave up on it and never watched the final 2 episodes. I don’t do TV anymore but “Yellowstone” sounds like it might be alright. Watched SOA and it was pretty good, strangely enough my wife loved it.

It took me a minute to realize the story wasn't about food.

Disappointing.

I enjoyed the early seasons of Heartland, when it was about the family and the horses. Not so much when Ty had to go to Mongolia or wherever to save the horses (while Amy was pregnant), or work with the SJW animal rescue guy. Every time Ty left you knew something bad was going to happen to him. And will Lou ever stay with one many or stick around and raise her own kids? Lol! Some of the drama is SO over the top. BUT it is wholesome in that you can watch it with kids and not worry about language, violence and sex.

Haven’t personally watched it, but I read somewhere it has non stop profanity? I typically eschew such.

Yes I agree about the Mongolia part and Lou.
Part of that may be thew writers keeping the series going for 15 years and their need to keeping changing things up.

I also am not the biggest fan of the new little girl in season 14 who tries to be a SJW!
But the immense good shown by all the other characters out weighs this.

Not sure I have seen a character portray a better more positive male role model than Jack.
Nothing like it on American television.

costner was once a Republican, a friend of Ronald Reagan. He started to turn in the ‘90s, ultimately campaigning for the antichrist obama, and supporting the buttman in the 2020 primaries.

IMHO Longmire was great when it more or less followed the books. Then it went haywire. The bar fight between Standing Bear and Longmire was so against the character of both men it was implausible and I stopped watch
