A construction manager tackles gender stereotypes daily as she shares the reality of how she is treated as a woman on a building site.
Autumn Westfall, a project manager in commercial construction as well as a model, from Macomb, Michigan, discusses her bizarre experiences as a woman in a male-dominated industry.
She explained to her 13,100 TikTok followers: “It’s 100% true that pretty privilege does exist and yes it is absolutely rude how when people find you attractive they are generally just nice to you for that reason and that reason only.”

Try not wearing make-up, dress in loose fitting clothing, and just exactly what is your construction 'experience'? A college degree with no hammer time?
Eventually the looks will fade, and she will have to succeed based on merit only. Like 50+ year-old flight attendants.

She presents herself like somebody more likely to sit on your lap while holding a very expensive watered down drink, vs somebody you’d discuss construction schedules and budgeting with. She has to know the visual signals she’s sending out.

Bet the rent she plays her looks for all it's worth.
If she wants professional respect she would put her hair up in a bun or ponytail, minimal makeup and no push up bras and no right fitting clothes.
Making yourself tik tok style of sexy on a oposite sex jobsite just makes you a clown.
