I think Banksy would totally approve of this.
Plus the “painted over Banksy” is likely now worth even more. Ha.

Shouldn’t be hard to restore as long as Banksy kept his original stencil.

“Ultimately destroying it”, or living up to the hopes and dreams of the creator? I’d go with the latter.

“what many art fans consider sacrilegious act of vandalism”
Umm, Banksy himself is an unrepentant vandal.

He’s 78! Did not realize that.
Definitely one unique actor. ‘The Gold Watch’ is a classic.

Only in this pathetic society collapsed by Democrats would people think graffiti is art.

For the show, set designers brought in one of Banksy’s other iconic works — one of his trademark, anthropomorphized rats — with permission from the artist himself to have it destroyed.

Walken has the same German-Scottish ancestry as Trump and was born just a few miles away and a few years apart in Queens. He seems like a decent guy, old song and dance man, still on his first wife.

Who cares - not me.
Every parent knows that children’s scribblings must be jettisoned eventually.
Some of them are adorable and worth featuring on the fridge for a week or two. Some can be filed away for “posterity” - they are that good.
But even those, at the very most, will be kept in a time capsule until the child’s adulthood, to be presented ritualistically - and then thrown away.
Let’s face it - the so-called “art” we are talking about here is no better than a child’s scribblings - just because some people are dumb enough to pay for it doesn’t make it art.

Why are they blaming Walken for that? He must have been directed to do it

LOL. Article clearly said Banksy gave prior permission for Walken to “destroy” his work. In other words, the article title is completely misleading and makes it sound like an actor blatantly destroyed an artist’s work. No, Banksy gave his prior permission for it.
Stupid article. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
