I'm in Alabama. A package that originates also in Alabama...just some 300 miles south of me...keeps showing up as 'delayed' in tracking and its a week overdue. Was wondering if its just a FedEx thing or????
I’ve noticed that they give an expected delivery time of weeks from now so when it show up before that they can call it early.
It’s a world wide thing. Global logistical backlog. It’s going to get worse.
Not us. FedEx is usually at the door before my wife hangs up the phone.
Mostly they lost it in a terminal
My last FedEx package arrived 4 days late, from Amazon.
Are you not paying attention to what is happening in the global economy?
There is a shortage of workers in every industry. That is a contributing factor to the supply chain breakdown that is getting worse and worse.
With regard to deliveries, all services (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc) are all having problems.
“Mostly they lost it in a terminal”
^^^^^ This. Happen to us four times over the last year. I think they recently played with their own tracking and routing software and goofed it up. If it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it.
UPS is the problem here in Upstate NY.
We are trying to avoid using FedEx. They “delivered” a 42 pound office machine to a nonexistent address. When queried, they said they hired a bunch of new drivers but didn’t have time to train them on their routes. The addressee was a major international corporation with a big sign on the building, Jimenez and visible to all
FedEx also managed to break the contents of two (!) Walmart shipments, rendering them unusable.
We have had a few items delivered okay by FedEx but we just can’t trust them
I had a bucket of hyd fluid take an extra 10 days. Some other parts came a few days late but the guy showed up in a Budget rental van... His had broken down. I also notice that it says “delivered” but may come 1-3 days after that... But I’m kinda far from town.
Its like the airlines publishing a flight time as 1:45 when they know its 1:30. More "On Time" arrivals and keeps the FAA off their backs.
And others we have tracked bouncing all over the country back and forth right past us a couple times...
One ended up right down the street 20 miles from us and then got turned around and went all the way back to the east coast where it originated from and had to be reshipped. 3 months later we still never did get that one.
I just had a Fedex package come from FL to MO in a few days.
Had a usps package take two weeks from OH to MO.
It’s all a crap shoot these days.
Didn’t you hear? You have to swim out to the boats that are being held up and look in the crates.
FedEX is by far the least reliable shipper in the biz.
We just had a package delivered to our house that was for someone else, somehow got labeled wrong.
It took three phone calls and a week and a half for them to come and get it. They kept promising it would be picked up that day, the day we made the call, but never happened.
With the exception of Fed Ex’s early delivery to neighbors with home offices, regular afternoon Fed Exis not dependable in our area.
So, we avoid them if we can. Some of Amazon’s non prime deliveries take forever if they are on Fed Ex. Amazon will often show a 2-3 week spread re estimated delivery on non prim deliveries.
My packages are either a day late, sit at some distribution center for 2 or 3 days and usually come in boxes that are beat all to hell. Fed Ex sucks.
Some years ago we shipped a couple packages to my daughter to pick up at a store. One package made it just fine.
The other sat in the regional warehouse for about 6 hours, got labeled as undeliverable, and sent back. It never even made it to the store for her to pick up! It’s supposed to take something like 10 days and three attempts at delivery before being considered undeliverable. And I had proof that it wasn’t.
I had to resend it, at my own expense. I filed a complaint with a printed copy of the tracking that proved it, and never heard back from them.
That left a bad taste in my mouth for Fed Ex, but I also realize there just are not any better options.
