You must understand how badly corrupted our criminal justice system has become, making it sensible for an innocent man publicly to declare his guilt.
My son asked why some of the January 6th protesters are pleading guilty to crimes that they didn’t commit. That made me realize that there are probably many people out there who don’t know how America’s criminal justice system really works today. If you think that you’re innocent until proven guilty, then you’ve been misinformed. That was the old way. Today, in the United States of America, you’re guilty until you can afford to be proven innocent. Allow me to explain what I mean by that, and what those January 6th protesters are experiencing.
They have been arrested and charged with crimes. Some of them are very serious crimes with very serious penalties. Ideally, a person can afford to be bailed out of jail. If you can’t afford to be bailed out, you have a long, expensive, and bumpy road ahead of you. (Of course, many of the January 6 prisoners were denied bail.)
Unless you work for someone sympathetic to your situation, you will be fired for absenteeism. Your employer needs to replace you and that means that you must first be terminated. You can’t blame your employer for that. So now, you’re not only incarcerated, but you’re also unemployed.
Since you can’t afford to be bailed out, it’s likely that you also can’t afford to retain an attorney. In that case, you’re appointed a public defender, who receives a salary from the exact same government that’s trying to send you to prison. I don’t need to explain how there are obviously conflicting interests there.
Also, most public defenders hold those jobs either because they’re incompetent or they lack the experience and skills...

We have the beginnings of a political gulag system.
1. A well informed Patriot can chose \when\ a lawyer is absolutely needed. Many early machinations by lawyers for the defense are simple paper-shuffles that just add billable hours.
2. Get back to me when one of the J6 detainees pleads guilty to “insurrection”.
Donald Trump could have helped with a legal fund for some of them.
There are many “statement of principle” that are self-serving myths.
Innocent until proven guilty is one of them. So is “rule of law.” So is “justice for all.”
The system is rigged. This is the natural order of things. It was rigged under the king, and it is rigged under the new kings, our overlords.

Two things that should be outlawed:
(1) So-called prosecutorial discretion. This allows prosecutors to act as judge and jury in many cases, by deciding simply to drop charges. If Law Enforcement has arrested someone, a real judge and/or jury should be the only ones who decide guilt.
(2) Plea bargaining. This is the weapon prosecutors use to bankrupt defendants in political trials. If a person is charged with a crime he should be tried for THAT CRIME. Prosecutors often reduce charges when they know they can win a case with the current charges, or use the reduction in charges as a bargaining tool to blackmail defendants into cooperation.

Now, there aren't enough true conservatives left to make a difference. When we try, they jail us ala Jan 6.
Trump could have issued a blanket pardon and prevented all this from happening too.
It’s not the tools that are the problem. It’s the tools using the tools.
The system will always create exceptions, and then to some extent abuse those exceptions. Get rid of prosecutorial discretion and that issue just shifts to a little later in the process, where the privileged will still be let off.
Said another way, good systems don’t stifle bad people. US constitution looks good on paper, but the people in charge of staying in it boundary have subverted it so they could operate outside.
Leftists don't care about "looking bad" to their enemies, which is why they win. There is no neutrality anymore.
The flip side to this is HRC remaining free of jail.
I learned a few days ago one of the J6 protestors took a dump in Pelosi’s office. Should have left a few needles too.
I posted this thread last night, Candace Owens speaking about how the democraps are trying to turn us into a communist country. Some here disagreed with her, but not me. I absolutely agree with her and we are seeing the beginnings of it such as the political gulag.
