ate 3 times yesterday breakfast, lunch and dinner to test out this so-called vaxx passport to eat-in at these various restos..
Breakfast near Melrose: I told them NO, I dont have a stinkin' vaxx card. But I have a party of 3 with me.
WAITRESS: "Yeah come in."
LUNCH> after editing an episode for a TV series, I went with a "known TV actor" (libertarian) at a restaurant in Burbank. CLEARLY says "Im not vaxxed and I dont have a card. Can we come in?" Server thinks about it for a time then says NO. My bud says "Alright, I'll tell everyone on the show NOT to eat here"
server: "ummm, wait. Yeah you can come in (LOL)
DINNER: More people this time and our "leader" is an exec producer for a production co. There is a BIG SIGN stating patrons MUST have a vaxx card. He goes to the "maitre d" and when she pressed him on the card, he plunks down $50 "sweetheart, look the other way. There's 6 of us meaning we tip well". She lets us in..
Yep. Money, and a chance to impress an entertainment mogul speak more loudly in LA than any stinkin’ VaxPort.
It makes me think they know the percentage of vaccinated isn’t quite as high as they claim, if they’re going to let people in to push the issue.
It’s not like they’re going to verify anything on the car, just print a copy off, write your name in certain random information on the card that matches what a real one looks like and they won’t even question it.
Both sad and funny. I’ve lived in both China and the former East Germany and I’ve seen the exact same thing. This is what twisted political ideology, social-engineering, central-planning and socialism lead to.
Societal confusion, cover-my-ass thinking, and above all CORRUPTION.
I spoke to some of the patrons. The eateries look the other way and pretend to “enforce” them. Especially if you “slip” them $$$ beforehand..
I live in Huntington Beach, but my office is is Burbank. The difference between the two is night & day, like living in two different countries.
Luckily, for almost the last year, I have been able to work from home, but will probably need to go back to Burbank starting in January.
By the way, most of my clients are in the industry.
“Restos”?
Do you call a sandwich a “sammy” too?
Burbank? Then you know Tinhorn Flats. I plunk down money there to support their war against Burbank’s covid tyranny.
so.. basically, your volunteering to pay a conservative tax? I suggest just taking your business elsewhere.
Yes, the last time I was there it was still all boarded & fenced up. There is a great donut shop about 3 blocks further up on Magnolia. I would see Tinhorn Flats on my way for an apple fritter.
Our office is on Hollywood Way between Chandler & Magnolia
California state song
Now, hey you, mister, can’t you read?
You’ve got to have a mask and jab to get a seat
You can’t even watch, no you can’t eat
You ain’t supposed to be here
The sign said you got to have a vaccination card to get inside...Ugh!
Harvey Weinstein never went hungry.
good on you... keep it up!
Ah..
The infamous LA “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!” card.
better than any Amex!
Don’t leave home without it!
My county (Contra Costa) in CA has had the vax mandate for restaurants for weeks now; I’ve had one restaurant in ten actually check. (And I won’t go back to that one.)
It’s theater.
The privileged class isn’t bound by the rules or the laws. It has always been so.
“Equal justice” is a self-serving myth perpetrated by the ruling class and its minions.
Hopefully business owners are awake now?
Side note: L A county Sheriff has said he wants nothing to do with this, and will not waste officers, trying to enforce this crap. FYI

Is it OK to use a counterfeit $50 to get in ?
