The mandate’s broad scope, when combined with its harsh penalties and huge exceptions, makes no sense at all.
California is a strange place. It has terrible public transportation and some of the highest gas prices in the country. The state spends a fortune on education, yet it’s one of the lowest-ranked in the country for students performing at grade level. Meghan Markle lives in California and she’s a typical specimen of the celebrities who flock to the Golden State, to bask in the sun and spend tons of money and cry constantly about how abused they are. California also has the dubious distinction of having the biggest population of illegal aliens while prominent Californians like Nancy Pelosi and Kamala Harris push the idea that the United States is a racist nation.
However, it would be wrong to think that California is already as bizarre as it can get. Los Angeles, which vies with San Francisco for strangeness, has just decided to implement one of the strictest vaccination mandates in the country. If you want to go to almost any business in Los Angeles, such as a restaurant, a shopping mall, a theater, or a nail salon, you will have to provide proof of vaccination. Even gyms and yoga studios and museums will be required to ask patrons for their COVID vaccination card and deny them entry if they can’t produce it.

Business owners worry about losing customers and putting employees into dangerous situations by requiring them to ask prospective patrons for vaccination cards. City officials have shrugged off such concerns by giving businesses until the end of November to comply with the new mandate, with threats of fines ranging from $1000 to $5000 for violations.

The vaccine passport mandate in San Francisco has destroyed the hospitality industry there. It will be the same in LA.

Not that I would anyway, I’ll keep to my conservative suburb outside of the city which had a GOOD, responsive police force.
Vaccine passports — the lack of them is the new yellow badge. Without a Vaccine passport you are non obedient, non compliant, and therefore an enemy of the state. Not satire, not an exaggeration. The fascist left is doing everything shy of loading us onto cattle cars for “re-education.” Well, they haven’t started that - yet. When they do, and I think there is a non-zero chance it will eventually come to this, how many are getting vaxxed, or getting on the cattle car, and how many are going to do something about it?
Refuse to comply. Even if vaccinated, don’t participate in a system that segregates.
I sacrificed and got the shot for my family. My wife and kids will not be getting it.
I won’t take part in anything that is “vaccinated only.”
Help me out here. How can a city government require private employees to do anything?
I know bars and liquor stores check IDs, but can they be punished for not checking them? I thought they only got in trouble if underage drinkers were served.

These stories are very bad, and vaccine mandates are Fourth Reich stuff, but....
I live in deep Commie CT, and nobody asks or cares about vaccines.

So, the problem appears localized—for now.
I don’t know the specific answer to your question, but if I owned a bar or restaurant I would have one trusted employee be the “checker” and their instruction would be to _pretend_ to look at vaccination ID but not to _really_ look at it or do anything about it.
They would also be instructed not to share this information with other employees or customers, just do it “on the down low” so Nanzi snitches can’t snitch.

The reason that LA has bad public transport is because public transport makes no sense in the sprawl that is LA.

Unfortunately one OSHA employee comes in and finds out the check is not thorough enough and you’re fined. They’ve been doing this for years with liquor stores and ID checks.
