There is a curious story out this weekend on reported FBI raids of writers or associates of Project Veritas, the conservative investigative journalism outfit. Project Veritas has been described variously as “Gonzo” or “guerilla” journalism and some insist it is more of a political than a press organization. However, it fits the definition of journalism, in my view, and that makes the raids troubling. All the more troubling is the cause: the missing diary of President Biden’s daughter Ashley.
The New York Times reported that the FBI searched two locations in New York in search of the “stolen” diary that went missing days before the 2020 presidential election. Project founder James O’Keefe questioned how the Times received the story within an hour of the first raid.

The use of the FBI is also reminiscent of the still unexplained use of the FBI when Joe Biden was Vice President to search for a gun discarded by Hunter Biden behind a restaurant.
Project Veritas decided not to run the story because it could not verify that the diary belonged to Biden. (The FBI may have just offered that confirmation). Instead, it alerted the police, according to O’Keefe: “Project Veritas gave the diary to law enforcement to ensure it could be returned to its rightful owner. We never published it.”
So why the raids? Since when does the FBI conducted raids over missing diaries?
The FBI can cite the interstate elements of the alleged theft as raising a federal crime. However, what is the crime? It is not clear if they are suggesting that the responsible parties were seeking to sell the diary or that there was some national security element (which would be bizarre since Biden’s daughter was writing before her father ever became president).
Journalist organizations are routinely given material removed from businesses, agencies, or private owners without permission by confidential sources. If this is a federal crime subject to FBI raids, what happened to the new media policies of the Biden Administration after the Tucker Carlson controversy?
The FBIAS has become the American Stasi in service of the Democrats.
It’s a nazi thug cover up. They knew Veritas gave the actual diary to law enforcement, so they were looking for copies to suppress publication.
It was a wildly inappropriate raid.

This is not about the diary at all.
The FBI is tryiing to silence Project Veritas.
Another example of American agencies treating the White House Family as though they were The Royal Family.
They ARE NOT ROYAL. They are nothing more than other people who (pressumedly) wipe their bums twice a day like anyone else. They are not ‘Golden’ in any way. Especially not the amoral, dysfunctional Bidens.
It took generations for America to let go of the Camelot Myth of perfection. Most of us who were around in the 60’s and 70’s have finally done so.

I agree. Actually, those in public office should all be thought of as ‘hired help’, even the President. There should be zero special stature involved.

Stolen or not, why is a diary of any concern to the FBI? If I called up my local FBI office and told them that MY diary, or MY computer, was stolen they’d say it was none of their business and to call local police. And the local police, if they showed up at all, would file a report and that would be the end of it. So why is the FBI getting involved in THIS?
Maybe okeefe can change his name, his company name, grow a beard and go live in a RED state, for crying out loud! Go south, young man, go south!

The diary is already public but few in the public know about it. The media suppressed this story. This FBI raid (illegal) gives the diary legitimacy. It will now become more aware in the public’s knowledge base. This does not help Slow Joe Biden.
Perhaps the movers in the deep state are greasing the skids on Joe’s exit? He is a disaster for the left.

I can see the Hoover-era FBI wanting the diary and laptops for their own nefarious ends. Biden is just a figurehead. I can see them wanting some insurance on him. Deep State is the master of DOJ.
This is VERY obvious to me. Notice that it happened around the same time that it was announced that the diary had been determined/announced to be legit. So, once it was determined to be legit, they could NOT have it being released.
Only ONE reason.
To protect Biden.
Wait, TWO reasons.
To PUNISH conservatives.
Send a message to your Senators or House reps if they are conservative .
This really frightening.
And I would no different if it was a liberal organization that was targeted.
Just like the DOJ aka DOI (Department of Injustice) and the FBI worrying more about parents standing up to corrupt school boards than about untold number of potential terrorists streaming across the Southern Border. When, not if, they strike it will be too bad if they target government offices this time.
They just want to minimize any extra blackmail that may be in the diary. Like there more needed. However,There could be others that are mentioned . Did any of this happen when the Secret Service was guarding him as VP? Is the government complicit in any illegal actions with Joe other than the SES and appointed leadership? Hunter is a crappy witness to the business dealings but could her diary corroborate the dark-side of the family business with a credible observer? Or was this just a fishing trip by political elites who hate project veritas and to discover who else is ratting them out?
Why the heck are they even bothering? The diary was posted online for all to see a.ready, so they aren’t going to be able to cover this up. Veritas turned the diary In to the police already.
