Actually the report (not reported on) that I can partially read from the video contains some interesting info as to why the flight attendant was concerned.

They were last on the plane (which is understandable if it was a last minute flight). The mother was adamant that they had to sit together. Neither one of them talked during the flight and the mother wouldn’t let the attendant speak to the daughter.

That and the mother promptly goes to the press with cries of racisss!? Instead of understanding that they were trying to defend her daughter?
