No matter how successful someone may seem from the outside, we all have our own internal struggles. During the earlier years of Anthony Hopkins’ career, he found himself in his own battle with alcoholism.

Anthony’s addiction started “innocently.” He adopted a worldly mindset and drank because “that's what you do in theater, you drink."
But as is the case too often, the social pastime soon took over his life. By 1975, Anthony’s drinking had spiraled out of control.
"I was hell-bent on destruction," the award-winning actor recalled. "It was like being possessed by a demon, an addiction, and I couldn't stop. And there are millions of people around like that.”
But it’s in our weakest moments that God’s strength works best!
Love Anthony Hopkins in most his movies.....and his interviews as well. As a man off screen I suspect he’s one heck of a man who doesn’t mince words.
Robert Duvall is another one of our greatest actors.
Jeremy Irons is awesome.
Check out the movie Margin Call, he was absolutely brilliant in it.
Have to agree.....
The ones they’re putting out there today have sooo little talent....but if they take they’re clothes off fully and kiss both sexes then they have a shot at trying to act, and that’s about as far as it goes.
Terrible actors today....they pay too much attention to if the cameras on them.
I recommend The Rite. Probably the straight-up better Christian movies out there and Hopkins stated in an interview he took the role to go back to his Christian roots as he grew up in a really religious Catholic family. It’s a “more challenging” version of The Exorcist.
Thank you for posting this.
Any conversion—whether an old story or new is good :)
God bless him!
And he is probably well-qualified to say “there are millions of people” who are in the grip of alcohol like he was. Hope he can stay sober.
Love this actor. Watched his movie The Edge…his foil was Alec Baldwin who played an irresponsible character whose actions led to people being killed. Irony in how giction mirrors truth…. Worth a watch

Hopkins is just amazing.
Tidbit: He’s in the Thor movies, and the scene where he banishes Thor to Earth (in the 1st Thor movie), both Thor and Loki cried for real. That scene, it was that powerful.

After a life of depravity, he decides he needs to get right with God at 83.
There is a solution. Sir Anthony and millions of others have found it
Amazing how horrible leftists, when they are close to dying, repent and convert. However, in the wake of their life, they leave a terrible destructive legacy.
