In the lifespan of a sandwich, 40 years is no joke. Between the commemorative NFTs and the early product releases, McDonald’s is celebrating the 40th birthday of the McRib in a big way. And so is Ryan Reynolds, who made a cocktail inspired by the McRib using his own booze, Aviation Gin.
The cocktail, rightfully named the Gin Riblet, is made by combining 4 ounces of tomato juice, ½ ounce of barbecue sauce, a squeeze of lemon, and 1½ oz of Aviation American Gin. The drink is definitely a savory sip and probably pairs well with the McRib itself. Other than the pickle garnish on top, not much else about the drink calls to me. Although the flavors don’t entice me, if Ryan Reynolds is serving it, I’d down a pitcher of the stuff.

Seems like a couple of pearl onions could be thrown in there.
I think a Coke pairs best with a McRib.
Pickle & Onion garnish.
Watch the video.
Well, sign me the Mc**** up!!
You could not pay me to eat that piece of ....
2 fried chickens and a Coke.
It doesn’t sound bad to me, if I was still a drink in’ man I’d try it.
I used to LOVE Bloody Mary’s with gin instead of vodka. MMMMMMMMMMMM

Sorry about the 2x post- I forgot…..
Worked at Mickey D’s in the paper hat and barber shirt days. Fries were the only thing I wanted to eat after an 8 hour shift. But that was when they were cooked in beef tallow.
Reverse the portions of gin and tomato juice and maybe....
Best damn chicken in the state.
I try not to eat McDonald’s too often, but I admit the McRib is pretty tasty, I always get one when it comes around. I’ll pass on that cocktail. Just a small coke for me, thanks.
The last time I ate a McRib it was quite enjoyable. The fresh roll, the pickles, the onions and the sweet barbecue sauce.
What made it even tastier is that I took out that gray hunk of nasty mystery meat inside the sandwich and threw it away first.
Only two? Jake, are you on a diet? Your usual order is four fried chickens. And a Coke.
Well said!
I admit I will buy 2 tommorrow ;)
Anyone could just use their favorite rib sauce with some of their favorite hard alcohol in it, apparently
A great deal is dependent on the type of sauce...
I prefer a thin vinegar based sauce to KC Sugar gloop.
