Dwayne Johnson says he plans to only use rubber guns on all future projects.
“I can’t speak for anyone else, but I can tell you, without an absence of clarity here, that any movie that we have moving forward with Seven Bucks Productions — any movie, any television show, or anything we do or produce — we won’t use real guns at all,” Johnson told Variety.
“We’re going to switch over to rubber guns, and we’re going to take care of it in post. We’re not going to worry about the dollars. We won’t worry about what it costs,” he added.
The hulking superstar made his comments a couple of weeks after Baldwin fatally shot Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza with a .45-caliber Colt revolver

He played a hitman part once- stupid autocorrect!
Fair enough, in exchange I’m willing to pay for a ticket to one of your movies with a rubber nickel.
I think it is a good idea.
If you know you are too stupid to manage them properly, you should never have one around you.
Obviously that is your conclusion.
Who cares.
Rock, I understand.
Your dad didn’t expose you to firearms probably because he was on the road. Your mother wasn’t interested in guns or self defense. Plus you had football and people telling you you were special.
Rock, you haven’t been in combat, nor in any firefights. Probably haven’t take a CCW class or Hunter Safety course either.
I understand.
Rock, it would be a good idea if your pansey ass shut up about the Bill of Rights and weapons in general.
Do you smell what the Kehoe is cookin?
5.56mm
He wants to run for president someday. You can see that he is a real genius! Think about it they’ve been making movies well over a hundred years. I don’t recall a single incident of anybody being shot by a real gun during all that time. Maybe it’s time to investigate who wanted this woman dead and why. I suggest they start with the lawyer firm that her husband works for.
...another virtue-signalling idiot.
They are so concerned about the safety of their fellow actors but don’t give a crap about the horrific scenes of ultra-violence they peddle to the masses.
“Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson vows to stop using real guns on movie sets”
somehow, i just don’t think finger guns are going to make very realistic movies ...
He plays the Rock and thats it
Well isn’t he special.
Rarely today is the need for a real gun on a set, there are prop guns with look and moving parts for close work and all the effects can be added in. I really doubt he can pull off his all rubber guns idea beacause fake is relly obvious in close ups. Also I doubt he would be hiring inexperienced and incompetent armorers and safety officers on the cheap as well as understaffing. Anyway Duane blew his respect out the door when he went goo goo over Captain Depends.
I still remember when Bobby Kennedy was murdered. In the anti-gun hysteria that followed, the”glorification of violence” was blamed and federal Laws were called for.
TV shows were blamed. Pulp fiction covers were blamed. Comic books were blamed. Movies were blamed. Toy guns were blamed.
Toy guns disappeared from the stores.
TV shows for adults, but still safe for kids, were dumbed down to kiddie shows.
Pulp fiction covers were changed to less blood and guts.
Comic books were changed.
Old movies shown on TV were butchered to remove “violence”.
But the movie industry got a pass when they said they would “police themselves” with a joke of a Ratings code. GMRX.
With the Hays code now gone, movie scenes were reshot to add more blood, guts, violence and lots of sex to get the coveted “R” and “X” ratings.
Within five years some Comic Books became adult oriented!
And now, TV is back with it’s super violence far beyond anything pre-1968.
I had to quit a couple of shows that were violent before but this year are even more over the top. I mean seriously over done. They would have been x-rated a few year back and now they are on TV.
Tire irons, baseball bats, etc. don't count I guess.
Whatever you do don’t use dreaded “pop tart” guns.
That’s what liberals do now they don’t have to think on the set.
“We’re going to switch over to rubber guns, and we’re going to take care of it in post.”
Ah. The old fix-it-in-post ploy.
Guns capable of firing a real cartridge should not be on the movie set. Problem solved, unless you put it up to one’s skull.
