Peter Navarro said in a new book coming out this week that Dr. Fauci damaged the U.S. and President Trump more than the coronavirus pandemic – referring to it as 'the Bat Lady of Wuhan.' The x-Trump aide holds Fauci accountable for everything from the Wuhan lab gain-of-function catastrophe and suppression of low-cost therapeutics such as hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, to the political, partisan and deadly delay in delivering the Trump vaccines to the American people. Fauci's wrongdoings, according to Navarro, included not telling Trump or the coronavirus task force that he knew the lab in Wuhan was conducting gain of function research on bat coronaviruses. Fauci has come under fire from Republicans for allegedly lying about his agency funding this research at the lab in China. Navarro writes, 'Fauci went behind the back of the Trump White House in 2017 to lift the ban on dangerous gain-of-function experiments. It was Fauci's agency that helped fund and orchestrate experiments at a bioweapons lab in Wuhan, China where the pandemic almost certainly originated. It was Fauci who, as we now know from a trove of emails, was being told as early as January 31, 2020, that the virus was likely engineered.'

Maybe I'm unclear on the basic scope of his job, but I would expect a guy to Fauci to pay attention to laboratory reports on infection and on vaccaine research. Crunch some numbers, tabulate some statistics, figure out where to use resources.
If the President has an opinion about travel, I would expect Fauci to shrug and say, "I don't care. That's not my business. Sounds like politics, and I'm just a scientist."
For Fauci to be "vehemently" opposed to Trump's idea sends up a flag for me.
The gerbil has been quiet of late. I think he is smarting from the dog incident. He should be swinging from a pole after the Wuhan stuff but some people just do not want to hear the truth.
If Fauci is responsible for the gain of function research that produced covid (still a big if), then it’s accurate to say he has done more damage to the world than any single man in history.
You might point to WW-II, but a single man was not responsible for that. Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Japan’s emperor, military leaders, as well as WW-I, the Russian revolution, and centuries of history led up to WW-II.
But, if fauci is responsible for doing a end-around US regulations so he could do gain-of-function research (which resulted in an engineered covid virus), then he is personally responsible for everything: the pandemic, the lockdowns, the deaths—all of it.
