The suspects are a man and woman who spoke English and gave staff the impression of being a refined couple who checked into the hotel and dined at its restaurant. They then asked a hotel front desk clerk to serve them more food and when he went to the kitchen —- leaving security camera monitors unattended — the man slipped into the cellar and stole the bottles, Polo said.
The couple checked out in the early hours of Wednesday, paying with a credit card and leaving with bags full of bottles.
Polo said no one noticed their booty, which included the valuable 1806 Chateau d’Yquem and at least six other 19th-century bottles from the exclusive Romanée-Conti winemaker in France’s Burgundy region. He said that he had not calculated the total value of the stolen bottles, which were insured...

Would make a great movie.
If this were me, there would only be 42 bottles left.
“Paying with a credit card.”
Hmmmmm…..
What could they do?

What could they do?
Reminds me of the Fawlty Towers episode with Lord Mulbury.
AND...for the pups that don't go back as far as Steve and Faye...
don’t recall that one, will look it up...
The remake was horrid/unwatchable!
They also stole the shampoo bottles from the room.
Raymond Reddington would have no difficulty in tracking them down!
Regards,
Agreed!
“45” bottles stolen?
Must be Trump.
How do you carry up 45 bottles from a CELLAR? Something is fishy.

Yes. Even if you put it in luggage, you’ll be toting at least 4 large suitcases at 50lbs each. Doable under the right circumstances, but that answers how they got it out of the hotel, and it doesn’t answer the question how they got it out of the cellar.
Whose credit cards did they pay with?
Why do they keep remaking great McQueen movies. Watch the originals. My favorite original McQueen flick that was ruined in the remake was pekinpaugh’s “The Getaway”
They do it so that you will have to buy the original, as an “antidote”, to erase the crappy remake from your mind. Make 1 movie, sell 2 for free. ;)
Sounds like an inside job to me...
