By now we all know the tale of socialist Cinderella, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez hitting the Met Gala red carpet to hobnob with the wealthy and powerful in a pricey couture gown emblazoned with the phrase, “Tax the Rich.“
If it was a sartorial effort to show solidarity with her working-class constituents, it only seemed to get “yas kween” snaps from the fancy people inside the fancy museum.
Enter Kyrsten Sinema who basically said, “hold my Keystone Light… and Marlboro Reds.”
This week, the 45-year-old presided over the Senate in a denim vest, looking like Ponyboy’s long lost sister who made manager at JC Penney. It was neither sophisticated nor particularly stylish.
But it showed what the producers of “Roseanne” knew years ago: people like a little working-class grease. And believe it or not, that vest was a lot more relatable to a larger swathe of the country than the elitist gatekeepers would let on.
Hey, if you’re gonna virtue signal with clothing in the midst of an increasingly tense standoff over a trillion dollar proposal, at least shop at the mall, not the floor at Bergdorf where you need a credit check just to enter.
(snip)
While disgraced former Congresswoman Katie Hill, who has shown a strong aversion to clothing all together around staffers, tweeted: “I hate to go after Sinema for her clothes when there’s so much legitimate stuff to attack but that vest is truly awful.”
Ironically, Hill has also been vocal about the “sexist” pressure put on female candidates to have the right clothing to be taken seriously.

I’m so glad women can hold important positions in government and media. Oh yeah, and vote...
I guess we have to let go of the concept that THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY.
I guess she forgot to check the POLITICALLY CORRECT DRESS CODE that she should have.
LOL. I’m afraid the same thought occurred to me.
Yet at the same time I can honestly say that my wife and my adult daughter are both light years ahead of most of the men that we have in the government. Of course they’re light-years ahead of most of the women we have anywhere.
I consider myself a very fortunate man.
You are fortunate, but would be more so if they couldn’t vote.
One can always check out the demographic results of elections.
It’s odd, many women would rather have the right to vote and lose, than not have the right to vote and win.
She MIGHT be currently helping to slow the destruction of American, but she’s STILL a female Socialist Democrat, so she’s STILL mentally ill and an attention wh0re. It goes with the territory!
*SHRUG*
P.S. I want FLOTUS Melania back! :)
My daughter does not like to discuss politics oh, she’s not really a political animal. But I suspect she is primarily libertarian, with a slightly classical liberal lean.
My wife is a ballbusting hard-ass conservative. Cross her at your own risk LOL
Sinema is out to create her own image and her dress style is part of it. Remember she beat a fairly dumb and unimpressive Republican and has done far more for the conservative cause than that appointed predecessor did, and is much less of a democrat than McStain was.
Elected officials are America’s royalty, all style and no substance. I’d prefer we supply them uniforms, blue jeans and white shirts are fine. Along with 8 year term limits.
Don’t mess with a woman who smokes Marlboro Reds.
EVERYONE outside of Government service is ahead of actual government workers. That is because they are not corrupt. Permanent positions breed contempt, larceny, and evil in the hearts of men and women.
She doesn’t seem to give a rat’s patoot what anyone else thinks, or seek validation from others. I like that about her.
Also, she isn’t an over botoxed crypt keeper so I give her points for that.
“I’d prefer we supply them uniforms, blue jeans and white shirts are fine. Along with 8 year term limits.”
How about orange jumpsuits?
Not to mention she swills Keystone Lights, while she’s hitting on the Marlboro Reds....her politics might be crap, but she sounds like she has a good time at parties...
LOL. I don’t know if she actually drinks or smokes. But it’s one hell of a mental image!
I pictured a nice denim vest with some stylish jeans and a nice top. What she’s wearing really is awful, because it doesn’t fit. The fringe skirt is a bit weird as well.
That said, at least she’s driving the left crazy and that makes me smile.
Well, yeah, since she admittedly swings both ways.
But you know what? I don't care, I'm impressed by her standing up to Dem leaders' bullying tactics.
She needs to cover her knobby knees.
I sort of like her style of showing up on the Senate Floor to lead the chamber by wearing a jean vest.....
This uniform seems to fit perfectly.
