A flight attendant for American Airlines suffered broken bones in her face and had to be hospitalized after a passenger allegedly attacked her Wednesday in an incident the company’s chief executive called “one of the worst displays of unruly behavior we’ve ever witnessed.”

I wish I’d been there
“I won’t tolerate rude behavior in a man”
Btw anyone deals with the public...as I do too...chain of car washes....I’m selling btw....and will not miss
The public can be awful....I think it’s much worse today
White trash is the worst decline
Far as hell
Pasty
Surly
No manners
Even in the south..yep
I’ve had death threats cause the half dollar towel didn’t drop
I put my phone out for immediate help and refund etc
And around one third are rude from jump street
However when I call them on it they usually apologize
Sex makes no difference
Men and women equally rude
But when they are rude I assume it’s a man
Isn’t that funny...
I love flight attendants ....or the old word even better
If I’ve told you that before dont hate me....
A fairly brief love of life...was an older Avianca flight attendant when I was 25
One of those memories you never forget from life as young man..
I haven’t flown since before 9/11. Things seem to have gotten worse on flights since then.
He can charter a private plane, train or bus from now on. Or drive himself.
Awwww!!! I have wanted to be a stewardess since I was 3! My grandma gave me a kiddle with a stewardess in it like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/322552782763?hash=item4b19a4dfab:g:gtUAAOSwXY5ZP0SZ
I was so into the ‘old school’ airplane experience and did my best but with the Greyhound class, I could only do so much and even then, very few were happy. Ended up leaving commercial after I finished a degree in International Studies just after 9/11 and jumped over to flying celebrities and the very wealthy for a private airline.
Night and day. On different planets in a different universe. It was a dream job and I got to fulfill my love of showing my employers the best a flight could offer and it was so appreciated! My company let me know over and over again how much they appreciated everything they did but I loved it so much I couldn’t wait to go back to work!!!
“And what kind of fairy land do you live in where you think airport security is going to address mental health?”
I tried to be nice and offered what I still think was your best outlet to correcting the situation. I can see you would rather let things get worse than try to take an action so this won’t happen again to you or someone else possibly not even in an aircraft atmosphere.
The security would not have been addressing mental health. They would have been arresting a passenger for assault. And even if he did leave, you and the airline’s computer knew who he was by the seat you identify in first class and he could be found and assisted in the best way the court system could determine whether medical or criminal. And it was you who brought up the mental deficiency possibility, not me.
As for knowing the job you did, that’s easy. You did nothing to correct the situation at the seat according to your story, and let it escalate into his being more aggressive, this time, physically. And then did nothing again even to report the incident to your supervisors and allowing the airline to assist you and others with this guy. He could have been found.
You’ll have to pardon me for trying to recommend something to you to help you in future situation.
“I did that job for a long time and I did it well. I don’t need anyone’s armchair therapist judgement on what I did and what I didn’t do.”
Then why complain about it? If it wasn’t that important why bring it up unless you are looking for someone’s opinion of it. And if the treatment you received was acceptable enough to you to do nothing about it, then you are also offering this person, and others like him, to do the same if not worse to your peers or other people.
I apologize for trying to make a suggestion on how you may have better handled the situation. It won’t happen again.

Just hate everybody. Its much easier that way.
No. I haven’t. Like I said, I’d like to know what precipitated the event.
Jesus Christ, dude.
This was about 20 years ago.
Move on.
“White trash is the worst decline”
Women have gotten way worse than men...way worse than men.
One day on FB a local girl said she has been putting out job applications but no reponses.
I looked at her photo, bright green hair and her head was shaved on one side and multiple facial piercings.
I sent her a pm and in the most respective way I could say that employees are “the face” of business and her appearance was holding her back from getting hired at a decent job.
She posted my pm and 15-20 young girls just ganged up on me.”how dare you body shame her’ What does her appearance have to do with anything bah blah blaj. The typical feminist empowerment mantra crap
I was called every f bomb, mysoginist. One said if she saw me out in the street she would spit in my face.
Young women have gone off the deep end.
Alleged? Is there some legal consideration that requires this notation of it being alleged? He did it, she did not fall or run into a door. He punched her. There is no room for doubt or speculation of anything else. There are no extenuating circumstances that make this acceptable. We don’t have a system of justice, we have a system of legalism.
I began my flying years back with Texas International from Dallas to Midland for something like $35. Our young wives in Midland would go on day shopping trips to Dallas landing at Love field. Soon after that came along SWA with girls near our ages in hot pants, free beer and club seating at the back of the airplane. That was a long time ago. We never gave a second’s thought to some nut going rogue.
I eventually traveled for a living having platinum cards with as many as three airlines at a time. Seems improbable now. In the early 90s things were so bad that on trans Atlantic flights you could go to the back and stretch out on a full row of seats. Trans Pacific to Perth or round the world from there back to Heathrow then home to Houston was the usual marathon when you could sit on the steps to the top deck with the crew and visit for something to do.
Only once in all those endless miles ending sometime in 2008 did I see a commotion or rude behavior. It was when a Nigerian family was allowed to board in Lagos with two huge “lap children” on a Christmas time flight. Getting the four of them off took a long time.
Only after that incident in Lagos did I begin to question getting into a sealed cigar tube with hundreds of people I didn’t know and becoming at risk of either injury or need of action to prevent injury to others. After these kinds of things have begun to happen in terminals and airplanes, for that reason alone, I would not think of flying anymore and am grateful I don’t need to.
What a pencil necked geek. Real men on the flight would have just killed him outright and put an end to his ways.
An excuse and not a reason.
Same- I won’t get on an airplane now. I would rather drive. I have been around the world and have seen everything.
There’s no place like home.
I’m laughing. If someone gave me lifetime free airline access I’d give it away, maybe sell it but I would not keep it. I had a lot of fun in my travels and learned a lot but I’ve had enough. A friend from Egypt told me that you have one bucket for crap and one bucket for money and when one bucket gets full you go home. The best part of any trip was pulling into the front gate at the farm. Still, I relive some of my most memorable adventures fondly.
looks like an chink to me
You know, that’s damn good advice!
YES!!!
I have free airline privileges my airline and almost free travel on other carriers as well as huge discounts on all cruises, hotels and all-inclusive resorts.
I have never used any of it. I am happy where I am. You can run all over the world looking for something or something better than what you have but in the end, it really is under your roof or in your back yard.
Broken bones in her face? Yeah, that sounds like "one of the worst".
