The crew would take the guns and go shoot cans and such during down time on the set. It sounds like someone didn’t bother to unload the gun, or verify that it was unloaded after that.
.
For the hundredth time, they weren’t filming a scene.
Supposedly rehearsing.
No need to pull the trigger on the gun you didn’t check.
.
What could go wrong, and the crew on Ford v Ferrari would take the cars out on the track and race at 200+ mph for fun I'm sure.
No
Is it possible Alec Baldwin knew the gun was loaded?
Or not.
.
Yes.
If Alec Baldwin thinks he is untouchable and they all know they won’t work again in that industry if they tell the Truth…
He’s a well known hot head.
.
I read the cameras were not running at the point of the shooting. But the detectives did take the chip (or whatever records these day ;) to see if anything was captured.
Most people are not aware of how many workers it takes to produce a professional quality film. I mean just a film, without many special effects.
I looked at the camera the now deceased photographer was using. I’ve never seen anything like it before.
Her camera looked almost like some sort of weapon.
I’m guessing she had to purchase it herself. Make that kind of investment in the career.
Baldwin was experienced. Don’t make any excuse for him. There are rules.
That’s not how it’s supposed to work.
The proper question is, “Did Baldwin know the gun was safe before he pulled the trigger?”
The answer would appear to be, tragically, “No”.
Celebrities are among the class of Americans who are usually above the law. Don’t expect him to be prosecuted. I don’t really blame him if he was given a gun and told it was “cold”. He should have checked for himself as a failsafe, to back-up the person who handed him the gun.
When I rent a car and the employee tells me the tank is full, I always check for myself. I don’t assume he is right or honest.
Baldwin was negligent in not checking for himself if the gun was empty. That said, he isn’t to “blame” for the death. Someone else in the chain of custody is to blame. That would be the person primarily responsiblel for INSURING guns handed to actors are empty when they should be empty. Just IMHO.
Baldwin should be civilly liable however, as a producer of the movie.
>>Baldwin did not check the weapon<<
You think Gary Cooper and John Wayne checked their weapons before shooting?
Too bad we can’t confirm that.
What about the actors in “Band of Brothers”?
Something totally amiss in this assumption.

Diversity hire.
Who claimed he was?
The other answer would appear to be, tragically, “Yes.”
A reasonable investigation would necessarily ask the questions “Did Baldwin know the gun was loaded” and “Was this a conspiracy to commit murder.”
bkmrk
I think in Alec’s next movie that he should check the weapon by looking down the barrel of the gun and pulling the trigger.
Call it Alec Roulette....
