The gun scenes in the Alec Baldwin movie "Rust" were considered dangerous enough to provide certain protections ... but not protections for people, but rather the expensive camera.
Ian A. Hudson, a New Mexico-based principal cast member who plays an outlaw in the film, tells TMZ ... his last scene in the movie on October 8 was a shootout where he was killed, and he says he was terrified that there were 20 pistols and 2 rifles that were unloading blanks, and the only protection against a mishap was some sort of shield around the camera.
-snip-
Hudson says the other, more experienced actors checked their weapons 2 or 3 times after they received them from the armorer, and it didn't matter whether they were told the gun was "cold" or "hot." Baldwin did not check the weapon, but rather relied on the assistant director who assured him the gun was "cold."

Baldwin did not check the weapon
“Hey! Cameras don’t grow on trees. We got Actors up to here!”
Has Alec Baldwin had any communication with Michael Sussman about Halyna Hutchins?
Or with the Clintons?
Did Baldwin know the gun was loaded with bullets?
Did Hutchins really threaten the Clintons on twitter four days before she was killed?
Baldwin had better hope that the local DA likes the Schwetty Bakery schtick enough to NOT file charges of negligent manslaughter on him... If I'm a juror, Baldwin is a felon.
maybe the cameras got footage of the entire situation...
“Safety demonstrations are done with all cast and crew involved in firearm stunts who are instructed that prop weapons should never be pointed at another actor or crew member. In scenes where a weapon is pointed and aimed at the camera crew, ballistic shields are used.”
Standards were not followed

Baldwin has been movies for how long now? And he is still experienced in handling weapons?
The NRA must be held accountable.
Baldwin is a greatly exaggerated “actor”. all he has to offer is his liberal trash talking mouth. the rest of him is dumb as a brick
Where did you hear this?
They must not have been filming or, according to the article, the camera would have been shrouded, as then would be the two victims behind it.
woops- meant to say ‘he still —isn’t— experienced?’-
it’s been floating around the net-
You don’t accidently load a live bullet into a prop gun.
Experienced actors have had safety meetings in previous movies that instructed them about safe weapons handling. Smart ones remember. Baldwin isn’t a smart one. And by all reports, in this film there weren’t any safety meetings at all.
I wonder who will be the designated fall guy for this, and what they offer him to take the fall.
