Lincoln Memorial cents started in 1959. Kennedy halves in ‘64

It still is. That bomb would go for at least 800 or more. The coins are valuable too.
Great safe. No one would want to touch it.

Why the Hell would they tell anyone? If I found this stash, I’d contact someone privately to check the round and keep all the cash.
To: gundog
A few 5 dollar bills in the center look fairly recent…

Yes it does.
From early 20th century then a break then more but from the mid- 60s. As if he couldn’t afford to add to his savings for a while.

A lot of the Jefferson nickels aren’t silver. And some look well worn. Someone was adding to it into the ‘60s, maybe later. It’d be great fun to sort out.

They seriously called out the bomb squad for this! Country has gone full retard.
To: David Chase
They may have done a lot of the collecting in ‘63, and shortly thereafter. I don’t know how much lead-time people had when Kennedy changed the coinage from silver to clad. I don’t see any Eisenhower dollars. They started in ‘71, and nearly all were clad.

Hard to say. The family must know who lived there, and dates they lived. Some of the silver is well-worn. I know that silver coins were being flushed out into circulation during the Great Recession. If gas prices get stupid high again, I’ll be on the look-out.
