Hannah Gutierrez has been identified as the armorer or weapons handler on the movie, “Rust.” According to reports, she laid out three guns on the Santa Fe set. One of them wound up killing Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza, fired by an unwitting Alec Baldwin.
Gutierrez’s LinkedIn page includes a resume note from this past spring and summer working at Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana from March through June. She described her job there: “Loading firearms with appropriately sized blanks. Ensuring gun safety on set along with instructing actors on how to use their guns.”
She is young and pretty, and according to LinkedIn a student at Northern Arizona University from 2017 to 2020 in “creative media and film.”
It’s unclear if Gutierrez was union approved or licensed, or still a student.

That’s about it. We know Baldwin will never be charged. And she won’t be charged...so what’s our next diversion?
These were old cap and ball revolvers. I doubt Baldwin even knows how to make the cartridge, or how to reload it.
great noticing. hadn’t thought of that.
“...why would there be any live rounds on the set?”
Bingo
There was talk some were using the prop guns shooting live rounds a couple days before.
Excellent questions.
But one thing did strike me IMMEDIATELY. And that is the family (I believe firstly reading it about the foreign family--the victim's parents) specified they had spoken to Alec. The way they said it however was more dismissive as if to say, "What a nice man. He had no culpability here."
And yes I'm sure Alec was contrite and extremely distraught and kind when speaking to them.
But Alec IS the star on this film and Alec unfortunately fired the gun and killed her. At a minimum a civil case should be considered against him. I just felt uncomfortable that they were so quick to forgive and act themselves with sympathy towards Alec. And although I do appreciate the kind heart they displayed and the not jumping to conclusions and running to attorneys as we so often see these days, I felt they needed to be a bit more wary of Alec overall.
Although once they start speaking to an attorney, I think Alec will find he will be sued by someone here at a minimum. With all those children and the expensive, narcissistic wife, he's going to be very happy about his residuals from 30 Rock.
lol. I like it!!
Interesting . . .
I’m guessing hers was a very short career. Wonder what she plans on doing next?
Good way to lose your ear, and your hearing, possibly shattering the skull.
If a cap and ball was used, then I could see test firing the pistol with a cap, and then a charge to see how much smoke is generated to make the whole scene believeable. With a cap and ball, there would be say 5 to 15 grains of black powder, not just any BP but stuff that is rated for hand guns, Triple F perhaps. One would then insert a wad and smoosh it down, add a cap and one is on their way.
Why a ball was inserted into the cylinder makes no sense. It did not have to be done to test fire the weapon for smoke effect and it takes effort to load such a pistol If the wad covered up the ball, then there would be no way of checking the pistol for a ball versus wad and BP.
What a tragic mess. As much as I dislike AB, I would not wish this upon him. As for the Armorer; I think the responsibility lies with her for not disassembling the cylinder and checking for ball, as well as making certain the amount of grain was minimal for the cinematic shot.
What the hell? What do they think its firewood? No even, not even firewood is stored like that, these people are clowns.
Forget the dumbbell girl, the police need to investigate the relationship between Hutchins and Baldwin.
cause people NEVER LIE on their CV...
The insurance companies will not pay any of the claims against Baldwin because he and his production did not follow standard risk management procedures. Discovery will be fun for the lawyers. Especially when they get the armorer girl’s tick tock videos and other social media photos and videos.
Your input is necessary and welcome to continue to clarify and understand the details of an extremely complex incident.
Certainly the Legal Consequences for Baldwin the Actor will be considerable, but your post allows me to comment on the far more serious responsibilities of Baldwin the Producer.
Producer Baldwin is in a far more serious world of hurt with much less wiggle room and many improper and illegal actions in running this film production, FR is where you'll find the facts, and I'll have a more accurate understanding of 'em.
Some dummy rounds (not blanks) look like real rounds. You can’t tell by looking at them or in the gun. And dummy rounds are used when the gun is pointed at the camera, so you see the bullets in the chambers, which may have been the case here.
The way you verify if it is a live round or dummy round is you point the gun at the ground, not pointing at someone, and you pull the trigger. As many times as there are chambers, plus a couple extra times. That is standard practice.
That doesn’t seem to have been done in this case.
What happened to the responsible person for the death of brandon lee?
Don’t tell me she was stupid enough to make videos of herself clowning around with guns. Oh man if that’s true there’s going to be arrests. Yep, he was the producer for this movie and thus he was responsible for everything, safety protocols and hiring. The union guys walked off due to safety concerns and Baldwin it seems said to hell with their concerns. He is going to be sued into oblivion.
And never forget the media's template is to ALWAYS blame the gun. Baldwin is naturally going to do what is necessary to minimize his responsibility.
