Will the Hispanic Right Turn Last? Noah Rudnick is the director of research at Cygnal, a Republican polling firm, and writes a blog about historical election trends. One of the surprises on Election Night 2020 was how much Donald Trump gained among Latino voters, especially in such regions as Miami-Dade County and the Rio Grande Valley in Texas that had long been Democratic strongholds. Later Pew polling of 2020 voters would show that Hispanic voters nationwide went from voting in 2016 for Hillary Clinton by a margin of 38 percentage points to voting in 2020 for Joe Biden by a margin of only 21 percentage points. This is a potentially seismic shift: as the Hispanic population continues to grow, especially in large swing states, its voting power becomes more and more relevant to winning the Electoral College. Geographic data confirm the trend.... Meantime, counties to the west, along the Mexican border, that aren’t majority Hispanic did not move toward the Republicans as much as the less-white surrounding counties. Last November, this shift came as a shock. But in retrospect, Democrats should have seen it coming—for a giant blinking red light appeared eight months before Election Day. .....Latino voters’ primary-voting patterns foreshadowed their eventual right turn.
....... Any dot to the left of the 100 percent line represents a place where Biden received fewer votes in the primary than Clinton did; any dot to the right represents a county in which he did better. Meantime, the closer to the bottom a data point is, the more it swung toward Republicans between 2016 and 2020. (Florida’s primary was noncompetitive in 2020...

And they claim Trump lost.
And, they voted for Trump, not a political party.
I think it might last as they realize what’s at stake. Our Hispanic immigrants generally are very entrepreneurial, they want a good life for their families (and they don’t want their boy children being turned into girls by the schools) and they want to be able to have a good life, not the grim Dem life of lowered expectations.
I know a lot of Hispanics, and they’re actually pretty apolitical...but they’re not liking what’s going on now.
Well, that’s nice news.
There is this view in the media, and among liberals in general, that Hispanics are liberal on illegal immigration, and support liberal causes such as all the “LGBT etc” business.
I think it’s a shock to Democrats and media types, that not all Hispanics view the world the way they do. Regarding the media, too many of them are in a bubble in the New York/Washington axis, and just don’t get out enough.
Doesn’t matter…can’t beat voter fraud…rats just count and ‘find’ more votes until they ‘win’…Pancho Villa voted for biden…5x….
Impeach 46.
Hispanics are starting to figure out they are every bit as white as any Italian or other Mediterian European.
This certainly explains the rush to bring in Haitians.
For most immigrant groups, the longer you have been in the country, the bigger your stake in it. And the more conservative you become.
It becomes more forceful if you say, “’Peach fawty-six!”
Temporary fix, at best. There are only about 4 million of them and then Haiti is empty. There are 500,000,000 Hispanics of various shades to import.
When word gets around to the Haitians that the Dems want their vote but then want them to be consigned to the housing projects, the welfare system and eventual slaughter (as an inferior race) by Planned Parenthood, some may decide that Haiti is not quite as bad as their assigned spot in America.
Not 4 million, about 11.4 million.
I can attest to that. Living in a blue city full of Hispanics the trump car rallies were huge with the majority of participants were Latinos.
I married into a large Hispanic family: 90% were life long Democrats, but very pro-life. It took a few years, but it’s been a strongly conservative vote
for 30+ years.
The high rate of out-of-wedlock births in the Hispanic community guarantees it will become liberal forever.
“Peach’m!”
Import 100 Hispanics. 20 maybe 30 will vote Republican. 70 to 80 will vote liberal Democrat.
Even if it was 50 50 it would be a wash.
Expecting Hispanics to save America is a pipe dream.
Yes and it will become more pronou8nced. Two issues will drive the move to the right: abortion and lax borders.
“The high rate of out-of-wedlock births in the Hispanic community guarantees it will become liberal forever.”
Wow! You’re a genius.
You must also believe this: The high rate of abortions in the Hispanic community guarantees Hispanics will become extinct.
