Rep. Liz Cheney is using her platform on the special committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack to take direct aim at Donald Trump — and become a foil to the former president and de facto leader of the GOP.
Since she led a band of 10 Republicans to impeach Trump for his role in inciting the Capitol riot, the Wyoming Republican and political scion has become the public face of the anti-Trump GOP movement.
But her new role as the vice chair of the Jan. 6 panel — one she owes to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) — has helped elevate her national profile, through dramatic televised hearings, media interviews and big speeches, for whatever comes next.

Cheney is not the de facto leader of the Republican Party….and help is not on the way, Papa Cheney. What a hellacious thought as if Republicans don’t have enough problems. An ambitious Liz Cheney saw an opening and slithered thru it. She’s allowed her own personal thoughts but using her elected official position is on par with the behavior of Ilhan Omar.

The article is poorly worded, but I think it is saying Trump is both former President AND he is the defect leader, not Cheney.
Cheney is a flat out traitor who will be a former rep in a bit over a year, unless the people in Wyoming have lost their minds.

It’s amazing. People who hate Trump are obsessed with him. They can’t stop. We have a guy who calls in to a local radio show here and the minute he opens his mouth, it’s uncontrollable Trump-hating toxic venom spewing from him. He’s sick. They all are. Liz too.
